Muley buck that was jumped out of its bed at 80 yards, impact velocity of 2880ish fps with 88 ELDm. Buck was sharply quartered away while running, bullet hit right at base of the backstrap, above shoulder. The deer dropped and when approached had a few agonal breaths, then expired. The backstrap...
+1 on the Wolfhunter; I have 2, one on an 18” 22 Creedmoor and one on an 18” .223.
No POI shifts and group sizes are equal to the group sizes shot with these guns using a TBAC gen 1 and gen 2 6.5 Ultra 7. Impressively quiet.
Edit: No first round POI shift I should say, as was noted on some of...
This is what I do, with a q-tip sprayed with one shot, wipe the inside of the neck. Works well on new Alpha brass when loading 22 Creed, but I do with all new brass, regardless, .223, etc, on first loading.
I shoot and load both the 80 ELD-m and ELD-x in a factory Tikka 18” barrel, COAL is 2.440”, they stabilize well at my DA, 5000’, and shoot about the same poi and group (1.3-1.5 MOA for 20 round groups) about as well as my 77 TMK handloads. I’m using XBR 8208 and CCI 450 and whatever brass I...
Yes, well mine is set to give MIL output, but yes. The data that it puts out correlates very well with the JBM or GeoBallistics data that I use for the DOPE at the given density altitude.
The Revic does have an option where it will give you a BDC “shoot to” distance which is essentially an angle compensated range. When in this mode, it will flash the line of sight distance first, then the angle compensated range.
No, the Waters mag is awesome, I only wish it was available in a 4 round version so it was more flush. The Ascension Industries one does fit flush and so far has been 100% reliable, but is 3d printed, so it may have issues in the future, but fingers crossed!
Probably 18-20” would be ideal. The Salvo is modular, but in its short configuration , at 6” it’s loud, so you need the full length to be effective and an 18” barrel would be about right.
I have a Silencerco Salvo on an Beretta 390 with a 24” barrel. It is more of a novelty than anything, but it is fun. I hunt rabbits and small game with it, but it does make the gun unwieldy and quite heavy, throwing the balance off. Nonetheless, if does work and suppresses the shotgun to a...
