@Formidilosus On the stac and S6 1-6 scopes, you torqued the rings up to and over 25 inch pounds. Is that okay only for these particular models? If so, why?
Dry needling of the lower soleus and Achilles tendon and manipulation of the talus. If they lack ankle stability due to a history of sprains then they may need some proprioceptive rehab. Typically a mixture of these approaches works quite well as long as the clinician has good hands and knows...
I never even knew tipping a processor was a thing. If they do a good job, I keep using them, and I send people their way. The tip thing is getting out of hand
My bell and Carlson long action stock for the ruger Hawkeye is 30 ounces. Excellent for the price.
MPI makes a custom stock for the ruger that can be made lightweight (sub 20 oz) as well.
I think you misunderstand me sir. I care about sheep and I hunt sheep. I just don’t call the biologist for 14C every year and ask what the numbers are and how the sheep in that area are doing.
My understanding was they were doing fairly well in relation to the rest of the states sheep. But...
I have been following 13D closely and it is way down
The comment on 14c may have been in comparison to other areas but I haven’t kept as close tabs on it because I haven’t drawn for it
All I have was what the biologist told me - that they were doing well. Maybe that is in context to the rest of the state. Comparing survey data from 15 years ago would be interesting
I doubt it. Most people wouldn’t be able to stalk close enough to have a chance. JMO. But, I like the motorized only idea even better.
The sheep in alaskas 14c were doing quite well, last I spoke with the biologist for that area - summer 2023
For me, rucking combined with some heavy A+A kettlebell work, preserved a certain level of running ability when I would go months without running. When I was running 6-7 miles in a session and stopped for months I could come back and do 4.5 or so and then quickly progress back up. It never...
Man, I’m like a moth to a flame with this thread. I like the stories of guys who have actually killed grizzlies, and what they used to do so. The rest is just a dumpster fire of opinions. Phil Shoemaker went from a 30-06 to a 458 win mag. Other guys are using 223s in the bush (Phil knows this...
I just took a grizzly this week. 1 shot with a 165 grain SST going 2983 fps at the muzzle. 30-06. The heart and most of the lungs (80%) were completely obliterated. 85 yards.
I didn’t read every response here, but how was the wind? Could the thermals have pushed the bullet closer to the mountainside and therefore under the belly?
I saw your latest pack weight, ha ha 😉
But yes, heavy. I’ve toyed with the idea of something lighter but I keep upgrading other things instead and they just keep working.
I just use the military goretex shell and pants from the ECWS for rain gear on my backpack hunts. So far so good. I treat it yearly. Maybe heavy but very durable so far
Check out the tipped hammer hunters. If you can get the 196 grain going 2900 fps it’s looking like you could take the Whelen out past 500 yards. I didn’t see these last I checked so maybe they are new? I’m going to have to try them when I get my Whelen finished. They also have a 255 grainer with...
