I’m a big fan of the Giraud, it’s like using a pencil sharpener to trim brass. Not needing to chamfer/de burr is a huge time saver. It’s not bad at all to do large batches
Palmetto State Armory's AAC line of ammo has really challenged the economics of reloading I think. I picked up a bunch of their 75gr Hornady BTHP match .223 ammo for 65 CPR last year, which is pretty good considering how expensive components have gotten. They have 175gr SMK .308 loads for $1/rd...
One consideration I think is if you plan on using it on a SBR AR15. If you don't have a 10.3-11.5" AR15, do you ever plan on getting one in the future? If you do, you'll probably want the option of suppressing it because they're very loud. The Griffin you linked is rated down to 12.5" but that...
Amazing, thanks. I submitted at the end of October with a trust and I'd be super happy with a wait time anywhere near yours. I'm thinking more like 7-8 months lol
It seems hard to reconcile .45 with wanting to do optic cut and competing in a class other than open in USPSA. Both carry optics and limited optics are both scored minor power factor only (9mm basically). There hasn't been much innovation with .45 guns as you can see, it's really slim pickings...
Another thing we noticed was that if your phone was connected to the Xero it could take up to 4 seconds or so to report the velocity to the screen. If your phone wasn't connected it might be 2 seconds or so. We figured it just lagged the unit trying to communicate with your phone.
My friends and I tested a couple Xeros back to back and in short, they're awesome. We did have a couple observations. The gun placement window is very generous. You didn't really have to be close to it at all. I could put it on a stool and shoot offhand and the Xero would pick up the velocity...
I typically haven't had problems with Optics Planet if the item is listed as in stock but I did have a recent issue with Dvor, their sister company. I bought a Hiperfire Eclipse trigger from them and a cheaper trigger was in the packaging. I called Hiperfire and they thought the packaging was...
