    I’ve had good luck with all of my Leupold Mk5s and have also had good luck with my Atacrs. For me it just comes down to personal preference. I prefer the Mk5s but it’s only because of illumination controls and the ocular focus rings.

    16" deer gun

    I would go .223/5.56. I’ve had pretty good luck with my 14.5” in the last year or two. Mostly shooting within 100 yards and using 70gr TSX and 77gr SMK. Wanna give some 62Gr T-TSX a try this year.

    Palmetto State Armory also loads a 77gr TMK round that I’ve had great accuracy results with but haven’t used on game yet

    I’ve shot 2 does with 77gr SMKs from a 14.5” Criterion barreled AR at 65 yards and the furthest I’ve had to track was 3 yards so far.     Almost all of my deer have been killed with a 14.5” .556 within 65 yards. None have went further than 25 yards.
