Rei Sahara Hoodies are nice. You can normally find them on sale throughout the year for around $30. They provide good protection, dont smell too bad even after a few days of tough hiking, and come in a lot of colors. I scout and hike a lot in them, and would recommend sizing up if youre on the...
Hope this hasnt been discussed anywhere else and I'm just repeating what everyone knows but I just saw that Gaia is automatically opting all users into a public profile through outsideonline.com, meaning that all activity will be publicly shared. To change to a private account, you have to log...
+1 for replacing paracord. It's overkill, bulky, and gets hung up on everything. Easy to find cordage that has a tensile strength over 300lbs for a fraction of thw weight and size
Get the SG De Havilland Lite's for the heat dump ability and am really impressed so far. Looking to upgrade sleeping bag to a lighter quilt and save some weight on a new 1P tent.
Best thing I did though was make an excel spreadsheet and add up every piece of gear. It makes a huge difference...

I was happily using Gaia as well at the $30/year price point until I got an email that they were increasing it to $90/yr without making a single improvement to the system.
I agree with what others said above about finding something that fits right, but I will say that I have a pair and the construction and quality is impressive. So from that perspective, I would say they definitely are.
I have the Guides and am very impressed. A lot to spend on a pair of boots but they've held up amazing, no break in time, and there are some good sales throughout the year
Thanks for posting this and bringing the topic to the attention of those like myself who would never think to document a carcass while in remote areas.
Couldnt agree more. Its part of an all encompassing desire to control every available resource at their disposal. Furthermore, once the elk are culled and numbers are reduced, they'll use it to increase access or harvest fees.
Has anyone tried or had any luck with the scopecam gen 2 universal adapter? I like that its simple and repeatable, and it looks like a good price for whats being offered.
I appreciate you posting this link. This seems like a positive decision by F&G to offer the hunting community an opportunity to provide feedback to the agency. If they truly pick, as they say they plan to, a well rounded group of member for the committee, this could really pave the way for more...
