The funny thing about this thread is all of the comments saying how they have to send in Swaros every 1-2 years when "having a lifetime warranty that you'll surely need to use" is a common knock on anything vortex
Welp, I'm upgrading from a $100 dollar set and pulled the trigger on this deal. Tough to justify more than 1k on a pair of binos atm, so it seems like a great entry into higher quality glass for pursuits where it matters more!
Yeah, I've seen some forearm protectors on gundogsupply. I'm sure they help, but they will only protect so much. The pits will remain vulnerable. We usually just apply some Vaseline or coconut oil to that area to prevent chafing.
Hope she heals up fast!
We just use the chest protector/skid-plate variety and they work great. The underside seems to be what gets scratched up the most.
Forearms too, but we opt for maintenance rather than donning her with too much gear. Getting a couple scratches is part of it.
Forgot to add that I think we just...
Know someone who's done this.. apparently it nipped his young kid. I don't know if I could do it honestly, and I don't think I'd want to knowing I could find a bet to administer an injection in home.
I'm definitely looking harder at the durstons and may consider a 1p for solo trips in good weather, but the Argali is still intriguing to me. Anyone else have experience with the argali vs. Seek tipis or durston?
Totally forgot about the durston's. They seem to have an edge on the silex as far as material. Also, might have to take a closer look at the cimarron. Aside from the Rincon, which may offer some versatility, it seems like a lot of folks have a few tents for specific purposes. Only problem is $$...
This is great to know. Knowing that you made it work with your wife + dogs makes it an easier pitch (pun intended) to the gf too.
Didn't realize it was that roomy.
I'm looking to get a tent that is light enough to not be a burden when backpacking (like sub 3#), can possibly be used with a stove (although this is negotiable), and is roomy enough for a guy my size (6'4" 230) and gear if I get rained in. I also intend to use it truck camping with my dog on...
+1 for German wirehaired pointer/Drahthaars. Different breed standards technically, but great dogs. If really focused on the family aspect, I'd consider leaning to the GWP lineage because they may have less a bit less drive for fur-bearing animals, which could be bothersome depending on whether...
Anything 12 gauge that shoots 3 1/2.
FWIW I've never shot one, but I've been window shopping Franchi's (Affinity 3.5 waterfowl lite) for a while. They're nice looking and appear to have many things one would want in a waterfowl gun. That said, those berettas look sweet too.
