    Altitude sickness question

The best thing you can do is hydrate a couple days before and work your up in elevation (meaning don’t spend one day near sea level and go to 9-10k plus the next). I normally like to sleep at 7-8k the night before to adjust some, then go higher the next day. Never had a problem that way as a...

I’m looking to do OTC this year. My buddy may not make it and a solo trip would be difficult. Message me!

Do I really need a BlackHorn Breech Plug?

Spend the $30 and get the BH 209 breech plug. Would suck if your nephew didn’t get a “BOOM” with an elk in sight… CVA recommends using it for ANY loose powder which is what you’ll use for Colorado. I’m using the BH 209 plug with 777 and haven’t had a problem at all! (Knock on wood). The plug...

What powder/bullet for co elk hunt

I’m going after a buck this September with a 270 gr federal borelock and 100gr 777 powder. Getting 3-4” groups at 100 yards which I’ll take with irons. Been pleased with 777 and it’s cheaper than BH209.

    Your choice for Muzzleloader regulations.

I understand where you’re coming from, but that basically makes a muzzy able to shoot at rifle distances with the right setup. The whole reason for a muzzy season is to experience the hardships of using a primitive-ish type weapon before guys with high-powered scopes hit the mountain.

    Boot recommendations needed

Can’t go wrong with Danner! Been using their patrol boots for my line of work for years and they’ve done their job plus some. I’ve had one of their hiking boots and it’s been great. I think it’s one of the cheaper end models; maybe the Vital hiking boot.

    Your choice for Muzzleloader regulations.

Irons only! With the sights today it’s not hard to reach out to 200 with irons which is plenty long enough.
