That's kinda funny that hornady would say that. How do they know what twist rate your rifle has? If they're 8 twist 7 prc will stabilize it, I'm positive that my 8 twist 280 Ackley will too. Thanks for the charge info. I'll back off a bit and work up.
They're very close. The vx5 is slightly better, but the difference is miniscule. Legal shooting time here is a half hour before sunrise until a half hour after sunset and I've never had an issue with either.
Was your hunting load using 6.5 staball? I'd like to try the 160 cx when my 280 Ackley is finished and I'm looking for ideas for it. Thanks in advance.
There's only one way to find out for sure. Load up a few and try them. You'll know fairly quickly if it's a viable option. I've had instances where they worked better and vice versa. Like someone mentioned above, lots of guys have had success with LR primers in a 300 prc. I'd say that it's worth...
