Glad you ultimately had a nice time.
Concerning the gentleman: there is always going to be that segment of society that takes an issue with the mere existence of other people, acts a victim, and claims some sort of entitlement. No different in the hunting demographic.
I've been in Idaho a...
Following.
Been deliberating the same, but the need for maps and camera end up making things more complicated or potentially more expensive than just sticking with the smartphone.
The best I've come up with is just using an old an Android with no service plan, for offline maps / nav and...
Nice find! Anyone have experience with Origin? Very compelling they are made in USA.
I am looking for an alternative from First Lite. I've had really poor experiences regardless of the type of clothing article: lame durability, croocked stitching, etc.
Bummed I missed this deal. Was out in the field all weekend, and the code expired. That said, if anyone ordered too many, hit me up! I'll even offer you some profit margin!
I currently have a bike of similar specs to the models that went on sale, and man, I thought I got a good deal, but this...
Thanks for all the responses. I ended up chopping the 308 to 18" to start. Can always take more off, but much harder to put more on...
All my suppressors are rated to 16" .308 so we are good to go on that front.
I may end up chopping the 6.5 as well.
Seems like there is some discussion and...
Does this include weapon? If not, that's pretty damn heavy.

I currently have 4 24" bolt rifles in 6.5cm, 7mm mag, 308, and 30-06, and looking to chop down one of them to run suppressed for elk hunting.
I will also state I'm not long range oriented. Personally I prioritize getting as close as possible on the stalk to eliminate as many variables from the...
Personally I've moved over to Federal Premium for everything. I realize it's not the most accurate out there, but it does everything I need. I don't really enjoy target shooting, and similarly impose max shot distance.
Seems like every physical retailer stocks it, and can even be found online...
I've been in and out of four stroke dual sports and recently went do full dirt bike, 300 XCW TPI. Unstoppable on single track, insane power / weight ratio,, efficiency similar to a 4 stroke (not your dad's 2 stroke) and I plated it and ride it to work, although depending on where you live that...
Sounds like a solid plan to me. I would definitely not leave a full size vehicle that high during hunting season, but with an ATV I say go for it. I'd keep a strong eye on the weather though, checking it via Inreach if you have one, looking out for any snowstorms.
Good luck!

I hear you OP. Could you clarify, are you looking to move away from freeze dried meals, dehydrated products, or both?
For solid foods, it is hard to beat Backcountry staples like cheeses, summer sausage, and packable fruit like apples. Others have mentioned. Minimal trash to pack out compared...
