I have a Renegade and would love to see them bring back the traditional black powder rifles. I'll definitely buy a Contender if they bring them back. I had a .357 Herritt once upon a time but since I have a Blackhawk in .357/44 Bain & Davis I just would get a barrel in that these days.
I think 6 CM would work fine. I went 6.5 CM because of factory ammo availability. If I got back into hand loading I would be tempted to go 240 Weatherby for the speed and because it’s a ridiculous cartridge with its unneeded belt but aside from being way flatter shooting it doesn’t have any real...
From what they have said on the Shoot2Hunt podcast the magazines will also come with a new bolt stop to allow a longer round to feed but I’d recommend you call UM for specifics, I’m not affiliated with them.

At the turn of the century I used to manage a gun shop / outdoor range in North Carolina and was able to shoot every day. These days I’m lucky to shoot once a month. I do have my grandfather’s Model 70 in 30-06 but I have left that the way he configured it, peep sight and all, so it is...
I don’t know the older I get the wimpier I get in the recoil department. I grew up in PA and had a pump 30-06 in high school. Later one I got the Safari rifle bug and had all kinds of silly rifles (340 Weatherby, 375 H&H, 416 Remington, 458 Lott) but these days my hunting rifle is a 6.5...
I used to own a number of elephant guns (CZ550 and Winchester Model 70 in 375 H&H, Winchester Model 70 in 416 Rem Mag, Weatherby DGR in 458 Lott) but ended up having to sell them at a low point and I'm never going to get to Africa now so it is hard to justify one these days. I may pick up a...
Having a well written article, podcast or video to point people to instead of a huge thread would be a plus, some people just aren’t going to mess with a hundred plus page forum thread.
I don’t seem to have edit permission but ignore the word ‘first’ in my last post.
My point @87TT Is just that if larger handgun rounds are more effective why isn’t the FBI using them? Or is the 9mm as effective as they seem they need? The Army is going bigger because of body armor not...
If bigger is not always better why has the FBI gone back to 9mm? I bring that up since the FBI and their criteria are some of the first evidence that has been presented.
Agreed, there is very little out there. I have a pretty short length of pull so I’m going to either try and cut down the factory synthetic stock or buy a Boyd’s for mine. The extra weight of the Boyd’s won’t be horrible since it is a 7mm mag.
People have been killing deer with .22 center fires since the beginning of last century. With today’s bullet technology they can more effective than ever with the right shot placement, which is what this thread has been circling the whole time. The lighter recoil and cheaper components allow you...
