    7mm 120 ttsx

I was looking to see if anyone would mention this. Barnes claims the 120gr will reliably expand down to 1700fps. If this is a shorter range rifle I guess it would work as reduced recoil bullet. I myself would prefer a full power load or a less horse power cartridge.

    WTB WTB TIKKA 280AI

Your would get it quicker if you went and bought a 30-06 or 270 and spun a 280ai barrel on.

Tell me about this .303 British

That rifle is still my father-in-law’s go to deer rifle. His killed many deer with the 303 Brit. He want to go on an elk hunt soon and I think I’m going to tell him to use it since it’s the rifle he is most comfortable with. I had one and killed deer with it.

Tell me about this .303 British

I bet it was bought out one the those old magazines as a military surplus for like $17.95 and then sporterized later. I’m surprised the rear sight ears weren’t already milled off. I’d continue to customize because they are let the most popular in the mil surplus world.

    Masculinity and Caliber Choice

Well back in the day bullet tech wasn’t what we have today. So lighter bullets didnt hold up. Bigger bullets deeper penetration. With today bullet Selection and technology its much less an issue, but most people hate change. So go big or go home. My largest chambering is 30-06 which I picked...

    Clickers. . 7 SAUM . . Im confused

Alright…. I’m fairly new to reloading and on the most shoot2hunt podcast “clickers” were mentioned a bit. What’s a clicker?

The cartridge for the next 30 years….

For me if I had to go to one rifle forever it was be a Tikka T3X SS threaded in 7mm08. 99.5% of my hunting is whitetail and I wouldn’t hesitate to hunt elk or moose with it. Range dependent of course. It’s just a fantastic cartridge that is under appreciated in my opinion. It won’t be the next...

I believe the 30-06 chambered rifle were then called P17. If understand correctly the P14 was only 303 Brits.

Tell me about this .303 British

It should be a sporterized pattern P14 Enfield. That’s all I really know.

Add another tally to the 6.8 western. Seems like the perfect transition. 6.8 western is one of the most commonly mentioned cartridge in this thread these days.

Looking For Suggestions - (Elk) Mountain Rifle Build Shooting Copper

I went Tikka T3x lite in 30-06. Loaded up some Barnes ttsx 150gr. Working on 130grs now and may switch to 168grs for an elk load. Should be able to kill elk well outside the range I’m confident in shooting. So 300-400 yds. Rifle is 7.2 lbs and handles very nice. Once my suppressor comes in I’ll...

    I want a 6.8 Western…but…

This is America buy one! 😉 it definitely been very high on the next rifle list for me but I’ll have to build a tikka. I like backfire and I watched that video. Very interesting. He had a live stream today and stated that someone in hornady reached out and claims the original offering for the...

    I want a 6.8 Western…but…

I will have a 6.8 western but in a rebarreled tikka. Not really a fan of browning/winchester rifles. I’m holding out on ADG brass. They are saying 3rd qtr this year. 6.8 western just seems like it could be a great everything cartridge and since I reload there is a lot of bullets to choose...

7mm Rem Mag vs the new age

Pretty interesting. This video Jim compares 6.8 western to 7PRC and also point out how hornady has been flasely advertising speed of the PRC cartridges. Finding the 6.5 and 7 can be up to 200fps then stated on box. #savethe68western
