223 Bulk Ammo for Long Range Practice??

The cheapest bulk match ammo I’ve gotten is from PSA: AAC 5.56 77gr. currently $10.99 a box. Their .223 75gr. is $11.99 if you’re concerned about chamber pressure. Bolt rifles should be more accurate than semiautomatic but every barrel is a bit different.

Looking for a new rifle - Recommendations

I’m so glad many members here recommended the Tikka rifles. I was shopping around for a .308 bolt action several years ago and came across this brand when Remington and Ruger were dominating the market. Anyway, read some great reviews on Tikka regarding accuracy and trigger pull and went with...

    Factory ammo

My impression is they develop the loads on various popular bolt action rifles as those are needed for accurate shots when hunting.

Equipment versus practice posts and Rifle practice/shooting

Hey, I’d love to shoot 200yds plus if they were much closer. I’m just zeroing my rifles (223 and 308) at the 100yd range. Will definitely take my accurate rifles out to a 200yd range at some point. Then 300yds if I can even find one nearby! NJ here. Let me know if you have a favorite range for...

What did you do at the range today?

100 yd range, I usually get some commercial match ammo and see how my rifle likes them. I keep track of this info and usually assign my various ammo to the rifle that likes them. Then, next rifle!

    Illuminated reticles?

Haven’t really gone hunting yet, but the illuminated reticle certainly improved the contrast when shooting dark colored targets.

    Illuminated Scope or No?

I’ve always liked the illuminated reticle, but the cost of the scope increases. I’m slowly getting more illuminated scopes to swap out the non-illuminated ones.
