No one here can tell you unless they read the company policy manual (or pertinent documentation) and know applicable laws of the state(s) which govern your situation.
Get your policy manual, and read it.
If you don’t have a copy, don’t call anyone to try to get one. Also don’t let others know...
From personal experience, neither will eventually prove satisfactory.
Luison‘s Advice above is where I ended up after economizing on cheaper scopes before eventually buying the Swaro. I probably would have spent much less overall if I bought the best to begin with
When you buy great quality...
I recommend you buy one of each, then go to where you hunt and do a side-by-side “shootout” however, whatever you decide.
I’ll skip the obvious of seeking lowest cost, least hassle return process, in fact, I told Eurooptic this is exactly what I was going to do and it would be returned in as...
may want to buy through Costco. It’s pre-negotiated price. Ours was a few thousand under list. Wife wanted very specific model which was not common, or I would have taken that price as highest possible price and gone to othe Lexus dealers and negotiated down from there. Lack of availability...
Buy both scopes and take to your hunting area to compare, then return the one you like the least.
This avoids wondering if you made the right choice. Any costs to do this should be regarded as the cost of buying some certainty.
In my opinion, a scope is the one thing you don’t want to economize...
My cousin and I went elk hunting in Utah (public land) in 2008. Hired a guide which was a great decision, since it was our first. Guide handled all the tags, we just needed to buy the license. Utah IMO is hunter friendly state, fish and game made the rules clear and the process easy.
Guide had...
Have two of the 2018 blackhawk Verizon lte model. Crapshoot on whether you will get a photo of an animal or empty woods or tail end of animal (can’t see rack). None of these animals are faster than slow walk and none are past 60’. Frustrating.
Followed manual exactly and had them long enough to...
That’s a feature IMO. Have had Hybrid with over 6000 rounds and it’s a couple oz heavier, but overall relatively clean. Mostly comblock AK ammo too. I figured I’d send to SiCo to clean. Not seen the need yet.
Think about it, some of the chemicals you may use may create seriously toxic waste...
Your comments regarding multiple people on a trust to allow shared use make no sense to me. If I buy in my own name, as you seem to advocate, how does that protect others in the household from “constructive possession” charges of a NFA item? (There’s hundreds of scenarios more plausible, like...
Things like Schott glass do make a difference, it has fewer microscopic bubbles in the glass, thus less distortion And better light transmission.
I’ve learned it’s the optics proprietary coatings that have the biggest impact on overall image quality, assuming the glass is similarly high...
Not quite. Loan on boat (toy), the toy is the collateral. They repo the toy.
Loan on home the home is collateral. if you screw the pooch when it’s time to pay it back, you become a tenant or end up with lots of unplanned expenses.
You asked… Horrible idea.
You risk your home if you can’t pay it back. Affects your entire family, not just you.
Your ability to pay this off may be good, but not slam dunk.
Keep in mind A significant number of people retire years before they planned to due to medical conditions that arise...
I think you are wise beyond your years To abort. We all know a lot of western hunting is a mental challenge as well as physical. Bagging it because half of you is not onboard with the challenge was the right choice, IMO.
Live to fight another day, wiser for the experience.
Lot of good advice here. For my part, I have a deer processor who ages meat in an igloo cooler which the meat is on ice and water allowed to freely drain. He replenishes the ice frequently (at least daily) for 3-4 days.
I get backstrap, tenderloin and rest is ground venison. I prefer 10% beef...
Personally, I don’t care for sweeping generalizations like “Millennials are lazy” or whatever. I think this is really a sign of intellectual laziness on the part of those doing the labeling.
I’m a boomer (for those who must label me), and have to say I have a real tough time with sweeping...
I think some is hype, some is habit and some is actual direct comparison. I also think since peoples vision is different, one can have a distinct preference for one piece of glass, even if it’s not regarded as well as others and that’s perfectly ok. I am color blind, for example.
My EL story...
To be successful, needs to have one overacrching goal, as in OP’s post, “chipping away at ability to hunt.”
Just identify 2-3 major contributing issues and stick to that.
Next, don’t allow others to hijack the audience to go off on a tangent or down some wormhole.
Find common cause with...
