What Did You Do With Your Old CDs?

CD's...hmmm, I don't know. But I think I'll Just take those old records off the shelf, I'll sit and listen to 'em by myself. Today's music ain't got the same soul. I like that old time rock and roll. Smokin hot high school counselor. That WOULD be painful.

Tips for getting a steady shot in the backcountry.

Lots of good advice here. Practice is what really has helped me in figuring out how to set up my pack as a rest, positioning, etc. (p.s. if anyone found a shooting stick in north central CO up in the mountains not too far south of the great state of Wyoming's boarder, pls. let me know...

    Shooting near homes?

Right!?!? My son and I looked at each other and said, "we gotta get a Subaru!". Then we'll be successful." Although there was a nice Lexus LS 600 (or similar model - I don't know my Lexus models...) that would have made a sweet hunting/overland rig.

Two party system: a necessary evil?

Wow! I feel for you. It can feel like a treadmill and also become stressful. I was more agreeable to a 2 party system than my wife. I however think I got lucky. She said one party was the way to go and if someone didn't like it, they could lobby for something else. With her it was a...

Newsom signs bill banning single-use propane cylinders popular with campers

Definitely mylar balloons! I've lost count of how many I've found/seen while out in the woods. As far as the disposable 1lb propane cylinders and the legislation, I get it... taking away individual's freedom of choice, more seemingly useless "feel good" legislation, etc. There are...

eBay clothing smells- How to get rid of them?

I don't get the point of this combination. An acid (vinegar) + base ( baking soda) = water, carbon dioxide, and in this case a salt. I'm not sure it's really an effective cleaner. Fun reaction though. To the OP; seriously, why would you keep buying stuff like that off of eBay if you...

    Grizzly 399 Vigil

Who went?? Come on...fess up. OMG I could hardly get through the article before vomiting. Or am I just a cranky, insensitive, old prick? https://cowboystatedaily.com/2024/11/03/vigil-for-grizzly-399-draws-more-than-200-to-jackson-from-across-the-country/

    First time eating bear…great success!

While what you cooked up looks and sounds delicious, bear is one of my least favorite. I haven't hunted one in a long long time.

Pump shotguns- Who is manufacturing the best?

I think it's a good plan - restore it and use it. Get it back in use and looking good. I've seen a few restores from Art's and I thought they looked great. To me, guns are made to be used, not fondled and petted while you sip your cognac in your tweed smoking jacket.

    Let's hear those PBM Stories!

15 years ago I was bow hunting, sitting in a tall oak tree enjoying a beautiful, frosty, northern WI morning. I hadn't seen anything all morning. Around 11 am I was just about to get down and move to a stand 100 yards down the trail when I hear crunching behind me. I hold still waiting...

    Outfitters banning bergers?!

That's not what SHE said. (Sorry, couldn't resist 8th grade humor.) This is an interesting thread; lots of opinions and experiences. When I started hunting mule deer and white tail back...in...the...day with my superstore bought rifle and scope combo, the counter guy gave me 150 gr Remington...

What products do you wish companies made for hunting?

I didn't see anyone else mention it but I bet its what most of us want. A very life like blow up doll with AI technology and built in heater to mimic body temp etc so we won't be lonely when away from home.

    Football fans???

I don't have a dog in this fight but I'd prefer SF. I really like Purdy and the rest of the team.

How do you pay for your gear?

How about table dancing? I think I mentioned it before. That's what I do. From what I've made doing it just this year I've been able to buy a box of amscor 9mm fmj ammo and still have a little left over.

    Quitting Alcohol

Don't do it! You think you'll be ok, that you can handle it. It starts small, a single gauge and load type. You pick up some equipment, a little shot, powder, wads, and some primers and off you go. Then you want to try a different load and you get a different powder, some different wads, a...

    Giant in estes

He's a "pet" now used to living a reasonably easy life (for an elk) around town. I'll put my money on "some hunter does something stupid."

    Port Strike

It's the socialist European model - we all get the same pay, same "holiday leave"/vacation time, etc., for the same low work output and quality. No??
