Looks like there will be 447 other hunters in Zone 4 this archery season besides myself!
After striking out last year with 4 points, 5 points got it done.
Anyone else get lucky?
If anyone has experience hunting these Wilderness Areas I have a couple questions I’d like to bounce off you if you’d be willing to send me a PM.
Thank you for your consideration.
Hey there. I'm Josh from Johnstown. I've been out West on a few trips for elk. I've been stocking points for several years in several states...
Would love to chat.
Hiked the best vertical I got in my neck of the woods (400 foot gain in about 1/2 mile )- went up and down twice then tacked on another 3 miles all with 60# on my back. Shot about 30 arrows from 20-80 yds.
Need to review the gear for the 3rd time and get it packed to see where I am at.
Well that means you live somewhere between Morgantown WVA, Virginia, and Myrtle Beach because from that exact spot I can clearly see all three of those through my Leica 10x42’s !
I’ve also hunted this area - there are certainly a lot of guys. But like any public land, get on the steep stuff and you’ll find deer and get away from people.
We also found a stash of moonshine one year as well 😂
My father, myself, and my son have all taken bucks in GWNF over Thanksgiving as well. Our experience is always very few hunters as soon as you get past the first access points. In fact, we have a certain drainage with a few ridges that we’ve hunted for 30 years and have had it to ourselves for...
No way to get a point now. You will keep your points, Iowa does not have a rule about having to gain a point each year.
Like other Western states however, Iowa is experiencing point creep. Hopefully we get to see what it took to draw Friday.
🤞here, hoping to draw Zone 4 with four points
I am a Lone Wolf Alpha and Stick guy, but I think if you are familiar with hunting with Decoy's and the ground approach you'd kill it in Iowa. I know a few guys in Kansas that only employ this tactic, and are very successful. A lot of the public in Iowa is grasslands and thickets, you would...
Can anyone confirm that First Lite has fixed their crotch ripping issues in the Obsidion Merino Pants? I have two pair and love them except for that issue. Looking to invest in a new pair of something and would buy those again only if that issue was resolved.
Thank you in advance for any input.
