Today was my 51st birthday. They programmed a special torture session of my favorites - would have liked some power cleans in there but still awesome. Finished 5 rounds. :)
I'm the sweaty mess in the Tool shirt in the center
Today's strength was a "tapered set of Front squats working up to a 90% of 1RM.
I topped out at 275# which isn't bad for a guy that will be 51 on Saturday and tips the scale now at 175# :)

9 Clean and Jerk - 155#
15 Pull ups

Did you ever make a decision? Since you don't like 308s then why not a 22" barreled .30-06? Since you reload there are some powders that will provide impressive performance from a 22" inch tube and ammo / components are common as dirt.
I know you said you don't like the 308 but my little...
Hello All - I have lurked here for quite a while and set up an account in Jan of this year. I used to be very active on some forums such as 24H campfire and AccurateReloading as "Buzz" - but the name wasn't available here.
I've been hunting since the late 1970s and reloading for 36 going on...
If I could find any - I'd use H1000 or Retumbo but I've seen neither for sale locally in a LONG while.
RL22 and IMR 7828 are the ones I'm still using for my magnums. H4350 works pretty well too, but will have a lower loading density and is extremely temperature stable - if that's a concern.
As others have mentioned - I have had great success using both 7.62 and 5.56 LC brass but it IS thicker and requires a load reduction. Personally, I have found IMR 4895 to produce erratic pressure variations near max loads - so I tend to use Varget and a couple of others for my hunting loads.

Unlimited PTO but it comes with a catch that most of us work far more than we would if we had 3-5 set weeks of vacation.
I tried ... Apparently it won't let me send a PM unfortunately :(

As a fellow "flatlander" that has been on 4 elk hunts - I would also suggest you look into "drop camp" hunts. I've done this three times in Colorado and it's much cheaper than you've posted and the intel given is pretty solid for success if you're willing to put in the work (read walking many...
I have primed many a round with old style Lee Autoprime. I broke the handle on the last one I had recently, and I'm looking for hand priming tools you've had good experience with. I bought the RCBS Hand Priming Tool Model: 90200 at least a decade ago and with large primers (and the...
That's awesome !
I did the same workout today. Got 174 reps RX, which made me feel pretty good for the 50-54y old class. I knew I couldn't do the Muscle Ups I just went slow and steady and made sure not to hear "no rep" :)
