If you haven’t bought a rifle yet, get the LH. +1 for a tikka. That said, it’s pretty easy to train yourself to shoot lefty and use right hand to work the safety and cycle the bolt. I’m a lefty, have had both, but now prefer shooting a right-handed bolt left-handed. Keeps my trigger hand on the...
1. Yes
2. Possibly
3. I switched my tikka brake for a tuner brake but I can’t say I noticed much difference in recoil. I’d suggest shooting groups with and without the brake and see which way groups best. Unless you just don’t want the brake on for some reason, I’d leave it on and find a...
Good point. I tried a few of the 137’s and liked them. Will probably go back to them for whitetails here in Tx since temps in Tx can vary so much during rifle season. The 151’s are going to be for an elk hunt in Idaho this coming September.
I’m loading once fired lapua brass with fed210 primers. Hopefully the load will be ok in the higher temps. We’ll see… might have to be a cold weather only load.
I’m at 47.6gr of tac and about 3050fps in 45* weather. Was also looking at a node at 49gr but accuracy fell off at same temps. Was your hot load similar or hotter? Wondering if the 47.6gr load that’s showing such promise is something I should avoid in warmer weather. I live in Texas and see over...
+1 on the Tikka. I shoot a t3x veil wideland cerakoted 308 and consistently get sub-moa groups with decent otc ammo. Shooting 1/2moa with reloads. Can’t go wrong with 308 or 6.5. Ammo is cheap and available everywhere in multiple choices so you can find a load your rifle likes.
