It's always tough gauging from these descriptions without photos and knowing the exact angle of the shot what happened with the shot.
A couple general comments; Yeah, shoot a little further back, collapse both lungs especially with a pass through and they die in 15 seconds or under. ...usually...
I'm with you on RMEF....they have gotten too full of themselves.
I'm a life member of SCI. They have horsepower and are still one of the best due to the big money hunters supporting their lobbying and Actions in Court to sue and stop a lot of this crap.
I need to look at HOWL...sounds like...
I did read it wrong….I was only looking at the one final speed column assuming everything else was equal
That makes sense. In the fletching test i did i literally couldn’t tell a difference in groups.
First, good on you for testing it.
Some of the FTF problems with handguns come from a weak grip....I would confirm it's not that first.
You can try the Underwood extreme penetrator ammo they make in various weights...it's got a FMJ outer.
It doesn't surprise me the 3 degree helical lost 10 fps at distance.
The real question- IMO- is did we lose accuracy or a significant amount of trajectory due to the fletch or BH?
Does that extra helical give you better BH accuracy?
I tested that helical with FP's at 3deg. vs 1.5 didn't...
The best I've used for 100# plus loads was an older MR frame pack.
The best all around pack for 70/80# loads was a McHale that I wore out and now the EXO which is equal to the McHale custom.
Stay length is important to get the right fit. I'm 6'3" with a proportional build so a fairly long torso. The EXO long [I can't remember length] made for a perfect fit.
I would get it and immediately try it on with various loads; 20#, 40# load, 60# and after 10 minutes you will know what works...
I get that....Everyone has their preferences. My guide buddy says the Swaro 12x50 bino is the best there is.
It's much like Tripod heads...my buddy swears by the Outdoorsman pistol grip where I like a ball head.
I'm not sure why they felt they needed to wear a bear suit. Crooks just stroll in and steal anything they want in Lawless George Gascons SoCal- thats why they just voted him out.
Good info on the S35vn....and the 62-64R was what enticed me.
I see S35VN at 58-60 and know I'm getting 58. I think thats what going on with my Benchmade Altitude- Its good but not great.
I asked WR about the higher Rockwell in an email but have not heard back. Did they get a special run at...
Thanks @sndmn11, I'm liking that Mule blank I sold you- beautiful work. That PMA11 steel is very good but it stains and will rust with blood left on it.
In my quest for the one that is the perfect size and a steel that will hold a great edge....I just may have found the one. It's the size and...
The recent spate of luxury cars in So Cal destroyed by bears was a person in a bear suit....says the DFG spokesperson.
It's my home state...but can it get any crazier? Facepalm

I disagree.
I have been hunting Coues for decades...and had the chance to compare all of the big binos including the BTX side by side. I used the Meopta 15x for many years. I'm a Swaro fan [I have the 10x NL's] but when comparing the Meopta to the Swaro 15x, it was a toss up with the Meopta...
Confused yet? Grin
So many good options depending on your priorities. They all have advantages/disadvantages. I have had multiple tipis, trekking pole tents, etc
My current go to is this Tarptent Double Rainbow (y) US made,UL, with floor and complete bug mesh, its big with no low sloping walls...
I had a guy come zipping up on me on a brand new E cycle this year in elk season. Good looking bike. I was right at the junction of a dedicated motorcycle trail so legal.
I think he was asking for trouble where he was.....he was about to go over a lot more mountains and he had 50% battery. My...
The F&G debts never cease to amaze me....Yeah, it's ok for YOU to eat....we wouldn't touch it without latex gloves...but it fine for you.
Any way you can negotiate a tag for next year? That would be a win win
Adding extra stress to a system engineered to withstand its designated weight- what could possibly go wrong?
Except maybe having a chunk of limb extracted from your face. grin
Those systems are over engineered so you might be fine..... but the real Q is "Why?" when trad guys are blowing...
