I start with talking to an outfitter licensed in the area I’m hunting, ask them if they’ll do it, sometimes they will sometimes they won’t, but they always know someone else for me to call. Lot of time on the phone, and I find what I’m looking for.

I’ve been hunting there the last 8 years and had good hunts up until 2016. Big groups everywhere and the pressure has been bad no matter how deep I go. I used to hear bugles but only heard 4 bugles the last four years. I’m trying a new unit this year.

I rented one last year (I think it cost like $70 for the week) and was very happy with it. It made my 10 day absence from the house bearable for the wife.
Cabelas has some 6" danner pronghorns in the bargain cave, with a few sizes left, for less than that amount. Not the best boot, but it'll get the job done.
