To Non Residents Considering Wyoming Moose Preference Points

The last proposal I read included delayed implementation. They were giving 4 years to the top point holders to burn their points. There will always be the next guy in line but they need to just find a fix for an unsustainable system.

To Non Residents Considering Wyoming Moose Preference Points

It’s funny how the working group and department made reasonable proposals to address the big three point system after 90/10 and the legislature continues a fraudulent money grab. For reference, SC eliminated their turkey draw system because it had become unsustainable. They refunded all...

To Non Residents Considering Wyoming Moose Preference Points

The fact that WY still sells points to people with less than 18-20 preference points is fraud. They are taking $150 for something with clearly no value and they know it.

    2024 - Moose Hunt

Moving a moose is not easy. We tried to reposition him but ended up quartering the first half basically where he fell. The team packed the first few quarters to shade by the truck, before bringing back a jet sled. We were able to move the truck to within ½ mile. The alders were 4-8 feet high and...

    2024 - Moose Hunt

We clearly busted into his bubble… and he was pissed about it. It went from silent to loud grunts and the sound of crushing trees. The guide almost yelled find a clearing, so we rushed about 10 yards ahead. There we grunted back and destroyed an alder by raking it with the scapula. The bull...

    2024 - Moose Hunt

Sunday we went over the spots I scouted and the spots he pre scouted, including some trail cam pics. Let’s just say his inventory was strong. He clearly put in the time and I appreciate it. We headed out at sunset, working halfway into the spot we planned to hunt Monday morning. There was a very...

    2024 - Moose Hunt

I probably oversold it when I told my wife I hit the lottery. She got almost as excited as me but it clearly didn’t last long. I started a multi-state application strategy several years ago, targeting cool animals in cool places. The strategy is simple; get one quality out of state big game hunt...

    Custom Moose Calls

I’ve got a rut moose hunt coming up and wondered if anyone has recommendations for a custom call maker. My buddy and I are big turkey hunters and are hoping for a great experience. We aren’t interested in electronic calls. Thanks

    Ammo for Moose Hunting???

I’ve got a moose hunt this fall as well. Plan to shoot my 7mm rem mag with Barnes 160 grain. I expect a closer shoot in Maine than I would out west or in Alaska/Canada. I realize 7mm isn’t ideal, but I think it will be fine????
