I’ve had the 26” Franchi Affinity, 28” Benelli SBE and I now have a 26” Beretta A400 Extreme. The A400 points so naturally and really soaks up the recoil, it’s by far my favorite. No worse on cleaning/maintenance than the inertia guns either.
I have the older non zip off Merino bottoms and hiking around I'm warm enough without it down to single digits. My recommendation is pick the lighter more compact pair of the two as they'll probably just live at the bottom of your pack like mine.
I have a "Best Gun Vise" it's mainly used for cleaning chores and mounting optics and it works fine for that. I don't remember what I paid but see no reason to upgrade. Starting off with a better model can't hurt in my opinion. The whole ignorance is bliss works for me, sometimes.
If you dial and have something like the Leupold ZeroLock elevation turret maybe having a zero low at 100 would be beneficial so you could dial down for environmental POI changes without a tool. Can't see it really being an issue for big game hunting, maybe it would be if shooting prairie dogs or...
I use a Garmin GPSMAP 64 when solo and a Rino 755 when out with others and want comm. they've endured weather that I wouldn't want to subject any smartphone to.
They hand out yellow zip ties at one of the ranges I go to and if you make the loop the right size you can put the tail in the chamber and the loop in the receiver so it stays in place.
