Gunwerks just finished up a bolt face for standard calibers. I’m expecting 6mm creedmoor, and either a 22 creed or 22-250 barrel option soon. I’m sure more to come, those are the ones that were discussed specifically.
I've shot hornady, gunwerks, and my handloads. Hornady ammo lacked consistency. The other two work great. No, gunwerks doesn't offer that load commercially at this point.
I did a cull hunt with the nexus in 7 PRC. Outstanding performance. Gun was driving tacks all week. Most shots were 500-800, a few longer and a few shorter. Earned a permanent spot in the gun safe, that’s for sure.
I’m a big fan of the aluminum bottom metal / arca rail / bipod rail. One piece...
@vonb - worked like a charm. Thank you for the suggestion. First round without the jkl trigger didn’t register, 100% capture rate once installed and settings switched.
I understand and appreciate the forum looking out for folks.
Question: is there any guidance out on how to handle 1099’s from eBay, PayPal, etc, for items sold that were personal use / sold for a loss? More than $600 = you get a 1099, correct?
Just took mine out to the range this AM. I am a fan of the center of the crosshairs. I was short on time so I didn't bring out any other glass to compare with, I'll report back on that.
Only complaint so far: the parallax 100yd mark didn't line up with 100yd target, I dialed closer to 150yd...

If you're sticking with lead, look at T shot. It's roughly halfway between BB and #4 buck. I prefer something harder than lead to keep the pattern more uniform (there's arguments lead deforms when fired and doesn't fly as straight). We've had success with some 'heavier than lead' goose loads...
I owned a 300 WSM and 300 RUM, both savage rifles, both similar weights, stocks, scopes, etc. They were within 1/2 a pound of each other.
In my opinion, the felt recoil was higher with the WSM than the RUM. I don't know if this was due to the powder burn rates or what. Neither had a brake...
The hot-weather hunting gear has done well for me, albeit I did snag and tear one pant stepping over a log - it caught on a sharp branch stub. The hole has not gotten bigger. I'm pleased with the quality.
My understanding is it'll still be years before the appeals are done and precedent is set. And this is limited in scope to Wyoming only. It'll require similar cases in other western states for this to apply elsewhere.
