I have an orange rain shell but don't normally pack it, I just want something simple when chilled while glassing to toss on without shuffling my blaze vest off/on. I have non-orange puffy options already and also when its really cold I usually have 2 puffys vs 1 to layer as needed. I have a camo...
I think folks are using the trim to length as their basis all the time, IE if there is something to trim they trim it.
I think you're implying trim to your gun vs the max case length? That also is an option but just using the max length as the other end of the window and then trim back to trim...
I worry that one is more pumpkin vs bright orange. I have an eddie baurer jacket like that currently but wanted to go closer to "compliance".
I was looking at that one earlier. Some of the reviews about the stitching coming apart quickly kinda tempered my interest compared to a little more...
I'm looking around but figured I'd inquire if RS folks see some other options. I'm looking for a bright/blaze orange puffy jacket. There are lots of "rust" and such jackets but I'm looking for something as close to a blaze as feasible, something no game warden would give you shit about if they...
Good thing there are scopes that have a higher track record for reliability (ALL scopes can fail, its a question of statistical occurance) for well under $2k.
The case may grown past the "trim length" and have something you could trim off at each shot but there is a max case length that probably is going to take more than one shot to go from the trim length to max length. You can reload brass that is in between without trimming.
Fwiw I shot a deer with a 162eldm this year, it was “dead on its feet” on the first shot but still standing so I shot it a second time. N=1 but it didn’t die any quicker than others I’m shooting with monos. Insides were soup but it still took time to die.
Deployed properly and with the...
Use what you want.
I kinda thought it was BS being sold off spec bullets which they eventually realized but just hoped folks had shot them up versus notifying customers... They did replace them once I contacted them about my results but doesn't change the multiple rodeos that occurred due to...
Its all subjective, expansion has started at their velocity.
Hammer isn't as transparent as you think either, I had some F'd up hunts because I got bullets from alloy with the wrong hardness. I am sure they've learned their lessons and check material test reports closely now but they didn't...
If you email barnes about specific bullets they will give you their "minimum expansion velocity", lots of the TTSX are 1800fps, some of the LRX are 1600fps and below.
BUT I can tell you as a barnes shooter for over a decade I'm not going anywhere near those velocities.
