I'm pretty partial to Zamberlan at this point, but, I don't wear any of the Alpine boots that are crampon compatable. First, they are probably one of the best made boots I have ever worn. Some of the features that are attractive to me... I have more room in the toes than My Han Wag Alaskan...

best boot conditioner??

I use the Hydro Bloc that Zamberlan recommends. I like it much better than Obenaufs or anything else I have tried. I would recommend staying with that.

I used to break in skates that way. Filled them with very hot water just before practice, laced them up barefoot and practiced with them like that a couple of times, the hot water would mould the skates to your foot. It worked real well. I never tried it with boots, I never found the need to do...
