    Long Range Proficiency

The reason a 223 can be stretched to 600 or even 800 yards on targets is the use of heavy for caliber match bullets. Incidentally, they are remarkable killers if you read the 223 thread. In any case, you need a barrel twist of 1 in 8 and your Remington li likely a slower twist and won’t...

    Is it all Leopolds

Dude, according to you and others leupolds hold zero and it’s a shitting shooting, different ammo, loose rings etc that dumb internet people don’t understand. If I or Marbles are selling a scope because of our experience, have the factory repair or claim it’s with in standards the you and...

    Is it all Leopolds

Yea, I knew what you meant glad you said very plain to understand. Almost all my buddies use leupold, or now vortex. They ask razz me, why in the world would you put that $300 scope on your gun…. When he and others pop out to range and I’ll ask what are you doing? “Checking zero duh.”...

    Trijicon Credo® 2-10x36

Bjborn I believe was an early user and posted on a thread pretty extensively about his use, which I recall as very positive overall. For midrange rifles id like to have a swfa 6x for, this is where I’ll lean if we never see more of them.

.223, 6mm, and 6.5 failures on big game

Late finding this thread on match style failures on game. I’ll add - older style very frangible type bullets too since I go back in years now. My personal definition is poor performance to incapacitation - time and/or distance. For deer and arrows or bullets 50 yards or less is great and...

Does the 223/6mm for everything change when hunt cost $$$

Gotcha. You must have some amazing experience to summarily ridicule imperial information. Very interested in learning more actual specifics

Does the 223/6mm for everything change when hunt cost $$$

Just curious being new, have you thoroughly read any of the half dozen threads using small calibers with heavy for caliber frangible bullets?

    1-(6-10) FFP with turrets??

The trijcon credo (not hx) is a 1-6 ffp mil very a similar reticle to the swfa mil quad, albeit a bit thinner. Made to dial but turrets are capped. Kenton can make a turret in place of the cap

    Vivo forest tracker esc durability

I figured the traction would be a huge advantage, but the insulation appears less, ie thinner 9 mm vs 7mm and not as warm?

Gun for Elk Hunting in Thick Timber

This was my route to bigger game timber hunting. Browning BLR in 358 win. In theory my hand loads will be effective at a quarter mile, but haven’t had a kill at that range to validate actual tissue damage. That’s old pic of a 2-7, currently a swfa 1-6 sits on it. It’s great scope and works...

Most common field position on big game animals?

That is funny! Hmm suggest a little more parallel torso on that position… Love this thread too - except my last half dozen deer kills were elevated and don’t fit into ground based positions. But tree stands for legitimate long(er) shots is a positional challenge imo.
