On easy to use: that was part of my thought when I bought it. One Dail to go from on and dim thru bright. Problem is it is almost always 2 handed affair.
My fenix is push button on, push again for next higher level bright. Cycle to off. It was way simpler in use.
I also have one of the originals and occasionally use it. They are good high quality products but very overpriced for their performance imo. The best feature is a true flood pattern for around camp or night fishing. But not so much trail walking at night.
For hunting I’ll take a fenix or...
Black foam with texture, sewn up it makes a rectangle in various lengths with one side open. I think the squares are closer to 3” so there would be a small lip at each end on the open side. Scope cover possible but not going to work with tall dialing turrets.
Maybe under stock front rest that...
Not meant to derail the grohman pursuit. I’ve had one for decades and they are deserving of a great field knife. I’d rather the carbon the stainless.
For non gutting, ie skinning and meat removal I prefer a bit more belly. a similar functionally variation by Lucas forge is their woodsman jr...

In Granville there is a cafe with unique sandwiches that was on diners drives and it was good. I’ll try to recall the name. Also rays barbecue near Newark.
Been thinking a lot about this, a chip shot.
My criteria is
- little to no wind
- animal is generally not moving
- easy to range, and verifiable again
- can build prone, sitting or tree branch kneeling.
I’m less concerned about the range, but 400+ is long range for me those aren’t going to...
This was rare run of 500. Ruger has the right twist at 1 in 12. I bought this used, with allegedly one shot fired by his wife, too much recoil. I have put 50 rounds in load development. The stock was shortened to overall 13 1/8 LOP, but the limbsaveer needs replacing. I had Bachelder Master...
If you glue, many glues don’t work well with plastic. There are three I’m aware of formulated to bond - one is from loctite and the other is from gorilla both state on the packaging its use. The other is the job weld formulation for plastics.
Think I have almost every folding silky including the katana boy. Can’t say enough about them.
For an all rounder the 210 gomboy is great.
The smaller 170 are what I hunt with.
The big boy is what I think competes and beats any bow saw for more extended fire wood camp chores.
Katana is...
