    Trail runners / Fast Packing / hiking shoes

    I have La Sportiva boots that I loved and ended up wearing La Sportiva Wildcats for my trail runners/every day shoe. I went to a local Fleet Feet and ended up getting a pair of Topo Athletics that I like too. Really comes down to personal preference as long as you stick to a quality brand.

    I ended up getting a ULA OHM for just backpacking and do plan to buy an EXO K4 for hunting. I eventually want to do the AT and the K4 is just too big of a weight difference to justify for that long of a hike.

    I would try out a few and return if you don't like. Exo Mountain Gear is releasing a new pack, the K4, which has a lot of hype around it. Think any of those companies packs will work if it fits you well.
