Just received my Exo today in Foliage. The color is perfect and first impressions of the pack are good. Glad I pulled the trigger on this and its well worth the wait.
Never heard of that pack...
Most on here will agree that MR builds very tough packs. Meaning you would have no issues if you tossed it off a hill for some reason. I personally have not used an MR pack so I cannot say if that one or any other MR pack is good or not.

It doesn't look like the pack has much for load lifters. With a price of over 500 bucks, I think I would go another route (if it were me).
Didnt Stone Glacier start making packs only a few years ago? For me price was a big factor in going towards the Exo rather than a Stone Glacier or Kifaru. Some of the other factors were that I wanted more color options than SG had to offer and I liked the layout of the Exo over Kifaru. Past...
Just for reference, here is a write up Steve Speck did on his pack weight. Now this is a three day list but the basics of the list wouldn't change must (depending on area and weather).

I recently purchased a set of cascade mountain tech trekking poles from costco and have liked them so far. They weigh 1lbs together and extend up to something like 5'4". I'm sure there are better ones out there like Black Diamond, but I oculdn't pass up the 29.00 price tag for light weight...
I dont think the pack does, but you be the judge for yourself. This video shows Steve loading up and holding 250lbs with the pack. He twists and turns some.

Without reading the entire thread... If you have an iPhone, you can use the iPhone SatSleeve (a case that makes the phone a sat phone)

Glad to hear that you like yours. What kind of temps have you taken it down to? Also, do you sleep cold or hot?
I know the Cal 13 has a draft collar... is it just not substantial enough to really do the job?
Thanks for the help everyone!
I just ordered a bag from STP. The bag is a Sierra Designs Cal 13 800 fill Goose DriDown. It seems like it will fit my needs and weights 1lbs 12oz. The best part? I got it for $226.00 with a 40% off code. Not too bad since the bag retailed for 575.00...
After reading many reviews and with weight as a concern, I have picked up a Sawyer Squeeze. You just cant beat 3oz and the idea of never replacing the filter is awesome!
Found this and thought someone may be interested. Its slightly heavy but for the price and goose down, i'm not sure you will find it cheaper.

A sack full of pine needles is a good idea! Thanks!
I cant see myself spending the 7-800 dollars on a really nice goose down bag even though they compact down to next to nothing. I'd rather have a slightly larger bag and not have to worry about getting it too wet.
Thanks for all the help!
Your not off base. My concern is that I will be sleeping and some rain come in with the tarp faced the wrong direction and wake up with a wet bag and not be able to regain warmth. I am curious as to how others keep their bag dry when using a its wet out and without the protection of a tent.
I would rather not have a quilt because at times, I am sleeping on the ground without a pad. Also I have looked at WM but they are down and not a dry down. I would prefer a dry down or a synthetic so I dont have to worry about it getting wet.
Thanks for the help! I really wish I could find...
