Has anyone put QD flush cups in the side of the carbon stock? It would carry so much nicer with the sling on the side, so I'm hoping to install some sling studs there.
My 7prc 22” proof barrel shoots a bit better than that, 175 Precision hunter about 0.6moa@100 yards and right around 0.8moa @ 300. Speed is about 2815 fps.
The VG2 for tikkas come with the thin pad, I've looked for an airtech, the 10809 fits but isn't a great fit. Anyone have a better fitting part number for the Tikka VG2?
Just got mine together on a Tikka with a 22" Proof barrel. Put the first 15 rounds through it this week. Started at 2775, and by the 15th shot it was up to about 2825 per the Garmin. It was very accurate throughout.
Good lord dude, no I have not because why would I? I've explained to you over an over in this thread, a huge benefit of a cover is REMOVING it to let it cool. So why would I wrap a can in something NOT REMOVABLE.
I have multiple suppressor covers, so I do actually have experience, sorry to burst your bubble. Vet wrap absolutely will catch burrs while walking through the woods. Just because it hasn't happened to someone doesn't mean it won't happen. The issue of letting the suppressor cool is very...
The downside is not being able to allow it to cool. Also it looks like a toddler wrapped his toy in electrical tape. If Id rather not need to sit around for an hour to let things cool before I put a rifle back in its case. No need for my suppressor and boot leg wrap to hold so much heat that...
If it never is allowed to cool, yes it can be an issue. I'm well aware that the wrap controls that, but if you're shooting a decent amount and the can is holding heat, there is a tipping point where mirage will once again be a factor, yes.
I mean yes, of course. Any wrap in a hunting scenario if going to get caught on more crap than bare metal ever would. The biggest downside is obviously that it looks like dog shit. It's also going to hold a lot more heat now with no easy way to remove it and let the silencer cool causing even...
This thread is so confusing, are you leaving silencers wrapped all the time? If so is there a reason for doing this? Also did you really buy 2 scythes totaling $2800+ after tax stamps then cover them with 20 dollars worth of random wraps? So confused.
Got mine put together, 22" 7PRC with the VG stock. Heck of a deal on Black Friday for the barrel and stock combo and its finally together. Added a sponge paint job and some layers of Matte clear. Will shoot it when I get the scope in and mounted. 6lbs 6oz as pictured.
I just put together a 7PRC on a Tikka action with the Stocky's VG Carbon and added my own sponge paint to it. Came out very nice and the Proof barrels all seem to hammer. 22" barrel and LRI fluted bolt. Weighs 6lbs 6oz as it sits. Will order a Vortex Viper HD in 3-15x44 and give that new...
You bought a suppressor, a lifetime investment, just go to one of the dozens of manufacturers and buy a cover tailored to your suppressor and stop with all this nonsense. Being able to remove the cover and let the can cool is a huge benefit. Doing whats been shown on this thread is bananas.
