    .44 Special Deer Load

    I’m working up a 44 special load for a Henry lever gun suppressed. 6.9 g unique 205 g jack hammer bullet That charge gets is right around 1,050 fps. I haven’t shoot any deer with it yet. Plan to spend more time on load development. Open to any others experience. Have a nice evening.

    Quiver options - elk hunting

    Thank you. Do they bolt right up to the bow? Or do you need a mount ? I see the blemished ones on Midway. Great advice. 5 arrow should be sufficient.

    7mm-08 all around hunting load

    Brief update on results from my season. I’ve shot 7 white tails so far this season. 5 doe and 2 buck (230# and 190#). Solid results from my 18” 7mm-08 with the 131 gr hunter hammer bullets. 6 out of the 7 deer dropped in their tracks.

    I’ve loaded up some of the hammer hunters in 131 grain. Ladder work up came out to 46.2 grains of varget. SD 2 and averaged 2,912 on velocity. This is out of a 18” proof barrel.

    Spent time today building out the load ladder. Started at 44 grains of varget and stopped at 47 grains. Bullet - hammer hunter 131 gr Primer - CCI mag Brass - Lapua 47 grains was the fastest. 2,980. But SD was at 13. No pressure signs. Best charge was 46.2 grains at 2,912 avg and a SD...

    Best sling for a mountain rifle?

    I’ve never tried a paracord sling. I thought they might be to slick and the rifle would slide off my shoulder ? Do you put any rubber coating or utilize a certain weave so the sling doesn’t slide off ?

    HAMMER Bullets Performance on Game

    Awesome. I just ordered 100 of the 131 HH. What length barrel and twist are you shooting? Plan to work up with varget to get in the 3000 fps ball park.
