    Meopta optika 5

I had no idea they made custom turrets for the meopta lineup. I may consider that down the line. For now I just taped a drop chart onto my rifle.

I think the z-plex will work much better for you. I was able to make out the crosshair really well in very dark conditions. I have successfully dialed mine out to 800yds repeatedly without issue. The turrets are surprisingly good for a capped turret scope and have very nice clicks.

    Meopta optika 5

I'm using an optika5 2-10 on a bergara ridge using talley mounts. Medium height I believe. It clears the scope and it is about as close as I can go. The removable throw lever would get in the way of the bolt but the adjustment ring is already very good. The included bikini cover interferes with...

    Meopta optika 5

I tried the z-plus first and I had the same concern as you. I swapped it for a zplex version and the plex one has much thicker lines while still having a very fine point. Overall, I think the zplex is better for thicker brush

    Best Value for Scope <$300?

Agreed. I'm really digging my meopta. The only real downside for me is that its somewhat on the heavier side. Considering that my previous scope was over 30 oz alone, the switch to the meopta was still a huge improvement. Especially since I paired it with talley lightweight mounts.

    Which suppressor are you referencing?

    Which suppressor?

Pewscience has not tested the harvester evo but has tested the Harvester 300 and the TAC Ultra9 on supersonic 308 and the TBAC definitely outperforms the silencerco with over a 10 point difference in overall suppression rating. I really don't care about TBAC at all but in terms of suppression...

    Best Value for Scope <$300?

I bought mine from sportoptics since I wanted the adjustable parallax model. The b&h deal is really good if you like the fixed 100yd parallax and reticle.

    Best Value for Scope <$300?

In that case I would pick the z-plex instead. The z-plus is probably too fine

    Best Value for Scope <$300?

I handled a z plus reticle optic lines are on the thinner side but still visible. The center dot is large enough to be visible. I think the z plus will still be visible if you hunt more open areas. I also tried the z-plex with adjustable parallax and I decided to go with that because I typically...

    Best Value for Scope <$300?

Meopta's website states that there are 2 configurations for the 2-10x42 model; a fixed 100yd parallax model and an adjustable parallax model. Here is a quote from CameralandNY and another directly from Meopta: CameralandNY High powered rifle 2-10x42s are set parallax free at 100 yards, while...

    Best Value for Scope <$300?

On the optika5 series, rimfire model just means adjustable parallax. This particular unit has a fixed parallax set to 100yds. So it being listed as rimfire I believe is incorrect. Cameralandny has the same part number listed and specifies that it is suitable for centerline and rimfire.

    Best Value for Scope <$300?

bhphotovideo has the z plus fixed parallax variant of the Optika5 2-10x42 for sale at $199. Fantastic deal. I just bought the adjustable parallax z-plex reticle myself and I really like it.

    Meopta optika 5

I went and ordered the PA z-plex model along with a set of talley lightweight mounts. I wanted to minimize weight and maximize low light performance. An illuminated reticle would be nice but I can live without it. I've never owned a scope with a plain duplex so I keep second guessing myself on...

    Meopta optika 5

I think you have convinced me. I may end up ordering a 2-10 PA z plex model tonight!

    Meopta optika 5

This has been very helpful. Thank you very much. This scope has almost everything that I am looking for. Would you say the adjustable PA model would be good for hunting? I have a long range oriented scope that I use on my bergara currently and one of my main nitpicks other than the weight is how...

Talley ring height for bergara ridge 308?

Yeah it seems the mediums would be a better choice if I were to pick the talley's. Thanks for your insight.

Talley ring height for bergara ridge 308?

I currently have a Warne Mountain Tech 20 moa base on my bergara ridge along with a set of vortex pro 30mm low rings. I currently have a Crimson Trace CTL-3420 with a 50mm objective and it clears just fine. I am considering on switching to a set of talley lightweight 1 inch mounts and moving to...
