Most commercially available rangefinder operate in the 905nm range. Once you get up to the higher end models (over $5k) they start using the 1550nm range lasers which helps cut through atmospherics better.
Seen a couple half white deer over the years. This one was a couple weeks ago. Just some spots though maybe a little albino blood from a couple generations back.
This was my back up rifle but found another project I want to jump into.
It's the perfect packing combination. I bought it new, and I have shot it very little, maybe 40 rounds.
The rifle is a kimber hunter with the factory threaded barrel. I had a small picatinny rail added to the stock to...
I agree that's the biggest problem. There are very few good FFP reticles that would work for where I hunt. My nx8 is almost useless for timber hunting without the illumination on. My closest shot on elk was in the timber at 15yds towards the end of the day. I was only able to make the shot...
IMO the FFP argument is lost when the top end is only around 10x, and maybe upto 12x. If I'm needing a true reticle for holds I'll already be at 10x.
Now when you start getting higher power then it's more important. The highest magnification I've shot at game with my NX8 2.5-20 was around 9x...
Mcmillan HTG edge fill with adjustable cheekpiece. Both have proof sendero lite barrels.
Here is my 300wsm. It has a nx8 on it now, but getting close to ordering another nxs 2.5-10x42 like the one on my 6.5cm.
Just to add another testimony for LRI. I have a hunt next weekend so I grabbed my rifle to confirm zero. This was the result. This rifle is 9lbs all up and has a 2.5-10 scope on it so it's not set up to punch paper.
Had LRI build 3 rifles for me, I've heard they are slower turn around now. Last time I had my rifle go down right before I was supposed to leave for a hunt. They got me going and their rifles are extremely accurate.
You already got your scope, but I've tried a bunch of scopes and the nxs 2.5-10x42 is the best scope for me. Glass is a trade off for what the individual prefers. I'll probably buy another since nothing else has come close to checking as many boxes as other.
Again this is personal preference...
With regards to the ARB. They are absolutely fantastic for product support.
I bought a ARB freezer when they first came out. I had a issue with it and called in trouble shoot it and order parts since it was 9 years past the warranty had expired. They not only sent the parts for free and a...
It is not tacky. I don't think I've noticed it being slippery. Honestly that would be a very easy problem to solve if it was. Anything from skaters to a little epoxy thickened with whatever you want for depending on how much grip you wanted
