Sold Mystery Ranch Metcalf and Scapegoat

I checked my original order and I got Medium for both, although the tag says S/M, I think that's how Mystery Ranch designates it. I'm about a 35" waist and a 19.5" torso and it was a fit for me.

Sold Mystery Ranch Metcalf and Scapegoat

Metcalf is brand new, loaded once and tried on but that's it. Comes with Ultralight ranger green rain cover. Looking for $315 shipped SOLD Scapegoat is used, I'd say its a B/C condition, lots of life left, I just switched to a shape charge so this is no longer needed for me. Looking for $115...

    Minimalist shoe/boot - transition process

@sneek-ee They are zero drop. The sold is 'medium firm'- not flexible like barefoot shoe, I appreciate the support when I'm carrying loads on inclines. There is some give but not a ton. For me I only like them when I'm carrying weight and/or putting on a bunch of miles- they give me some...

Day hike delicacy--something special for the family

I've done ice cream in a little cooler with dry ice for a date once and that was really fun.

    Cold Plunges?

I started with cold showers, i don't like building up to cold, i just like going in, for me that's part of growing that 'mental toughness'. Also doing concentrated breathwork outside of cold plunges/showers (almost like a meditation, just focusing on deep breathing) helped with doing it in the...

When do you hood when layering?

If I'm moving a lot, layers will be taken on and off, and I will opt for no hoods except rain jacket. For glassing, camping, travel, etc. I like to have a hood on my insulating layer to be cozy.

    Lightweight hunting knife

If I'm not concerned about weight, I like to use my Spyderco Southfork in s90v in combo or an SPK shark in vanax. Not the lightest but they are laser sharp and a joy to use. I have and use cheaper knives like the mentioned Victorinox and havalons as well, but I personally enjoy the feel of a...

    Mountain hunting sidearm

Probably depends how you carry it, but I keep a 10mm XDM on my pack belt and hardly notice it's there. I do the chest holster sometimes but don't prefer it.

    Minimalist shoe/boot - transition process

I've been wearing barefoot shoes for over 5 ish years now. I don't think I have any tips other than just to take it slow so you don't over-do it and injure yourself. Your ankles, legs, core, and sense of balance will adapt over time to be much stronger. Vivo's are great but I find the thin...

What's your favorite pack/s and what are its purpose/es

Travel/EDC: Kifaru Antero -> I've gone through about a dozen or so packs in this category including goruck, mystery ranch, tom bihn, alpha one niner and many more, and this is by far my favorite. Works exceptionally well as a day hiking pack as well. 'Car' emergency Backpack: Kelty Peregrine...

    Living in Northern Idaho

I'm about your age and my wife and I love it up here. We came from Wisconsin to leave the idiocy there, and being God fearing Christians living traditional lives we've been accepted into the community and call Northern ID home, actually more so than what we left behind. We've found however that...
