Idaho Shed Hunting- Permit Required Bill

That is ridiculous, people need to pay the government for permission to pick stuff up off the ground? What next pay a fee every time you take a dump at your house. I'm amazed everyone isn't outraged about this!

Smaller Bore Match Bullets for Brown Bear or Moose (and other big critters)

Or everyone that tried with a .223 got mauled lol. in all seriousness though, im lean toward form with this one. If a pistol will stop a bear close range I can't logically see how a smaller rifle would not do the same. But I still wouldn't feel comfortable looking for a brown bear with the...

    6.5 Grendal???

    Two Gun Quiver

So far I'm pleased with it. But my round count is pretty low so take that for what it's worth

    Two Gun Quiver

If you exclude my .22 cal, my hunting rifle is a 2 quiver. 6.5 grendel and 300 wm. 6.5 grendel is a howa mini @ ×/-6.5# 300 wm is a browning x bolt @ +/- 8.5# I'm pretty pleased with both, and personally feel I'm covered for any game I will ever pursue

Smaller Bore Match Bullets for Brown Bear or Moose (and other big critters)

I don't disagree. At home in kodiak I carry a 6.5 grendel/10mm side arm and feel comfortable with it, when I'm not actively looking for bears. Others I know disagree, so I look forward to someone hopefully chiming in with some real world experience. The only brown bear I've shot was with a...

Smaller Bore Match Bullets for Brown Bear or Moose (and other big critters)

Little disappointing, as much caliber debating that goes on here. We get nothing for discussion when it comes to truly needed an appropriate caliber to save your life? I'll put my 2 cents in though(not an expert by any means), maybe stir the pot a little for the discussion. Is a large caliber...

    6.5 Grendal???

haven't killed hogs, but killed 1 black tail deer (DRT) with a 18" AR. I liked it enough I just put one together in a bolt gun.

    AR hunters

I'm sure the safety patrol would disagree, but mine stays chambered all day, unless I'm hiking something really sketchy.

    AR hunters

Another for 6.5 grendel. 18" ss barrel, Leupold 3x12x40. Wieght unknown but it's not very heavy.

So, you went smaller caliber, but not down to .223…

Hunted VA most of my life with a 12 gauge shotgun (hunting whitetails w/ dogs), moved to AK using a 300 wm (still use for the larger big game). But my go to is 6.5 grendel now. the .223 thread shows .223 will get it done, but I don't like the lack of pass through that seems like the norm with .223.

    Dogs and raw game meat

I've always feed my dogs raw scraps and deer feet. Haven't had a problem so far. Might wanna start with a small amount first if they've never had any before and see if it agrees with them.

    6.5 grendel or 7mm-08

The more I'm thinking about it, im leaning towards the grendel. If I go out for elk I will probably just take my 300wm. It would be on afognak island, and there are alot of aggressive grizzlies there. So 300wm would probably be the best bet there in case you have a problem bear.

    6.5 grendel or 7mm-08

Looking for non bias opinions from the masses. I'm live in kodiak ak trying to build a lightweight, lowish recoil bolt action rifle. It's going to be a mid range gun (+/-350 yard max), with a vast majority of the shots much less. I have a 300wm for large game, this rifles main purpose is for...
