    Rangefinder advice

I love my sig rangefinder: I don’t think it’s a mistake. One of the better purchases I’ve made. I have buddies that have the vortex and I prefer my sig anyday!

Gila Archery Elk, what to get my Dad to prepare him?

You have a lot of these comments on these already. But boots for sure and treking poles are a game changer. A nice pack is also a game changer but might be out of your price range… the one thing I have not seen commented on is a garmin inreach. The mini will do just fine. It’s more than you $100...

hunting low density vs high density elk

Thick timber can be tough if your used to more open country. Spot and stalk could still work but it will be really slow moving once your close in thick timber. I would pattern them if I were you. And then set up in the open area they frequent either in the morning Or in the evening. It also...

Poacher Gets Prison & Big Fine

It depends on the state really. It also depends on what the judge rules. The judge has a large say on what and where things go. Idaho for instance has an anual fur sale. Not all the animals in the sale are from that, in fact most animals in the sale are not from court hearings. Some of the...

“Huntress” charged with several wildlife crimes

Agreed. And if someone claims to poach to feed their family now I call BS. Most states have programs to help with this. Food banks, roadkill salvage laws, Game and Fish agencies also have lists to help get rid of meat when they need.

    Potential Lower 48 Grizz Ban

Idaho tried to start a Grizzly bear hunt a few years ago and it was federally overturned. I believe Montana and Wyoming also tried at the same time.

    Possible Bowhunting Ban

This sounds about right. And the hunter gets blamed for “wasting” the meat. With that being said I understand the landowners right to not allow someone on their property for any reason. But to put a ban on the entire hunting community is crazy.
