Yeah, I figured ordering it altogether, it’d be from the same finish lot. They shipped all 3 separately at different times. Still thinking they sent the wrong colored upper…seems like more like a bronze. It matches closer to my element chassis than the lower and handguard.
Additional update after receiving the handguard yesterday, and their response to color variation. Can’t support a business that doesn’t stand behind their product and customers. (First picture, disassembled, is under LED lighting in kitchen; second is natural light on my pool table)
Still a mortgage on your home…quicker closing, likely no appraisal needed since you own home free/clear (likely use a valuation model), minimal closing costs compared to traditional mortgage, interest rate is higher with short repayment term. Very similar to an auto loan just secured by your...
Their service is non-existent. I’ve used them directly for past parts and builds, but am having a nightmare getting what I ordered 10/29 this year. Same experience recently as posted above…
Received a promo email about a contract overrun on 10/29/24; placed order same day for stripped upper...
You can run mortgage calculator scenarios for free on sites such as bankrate…using your midpoint purchase price of $450k with 20% down ($90k) or 5% down ($22.5K). This does not account for your closing costs (an additional 2-3% of the loan amount as a baseline approximation; or...
If you have a shop to test one out, that’d be easiest to see if it’s worth it to you. It will be very familiar and likely more refined comparatively.
I’ve had a few different carbon Hoyt’s and have really enjoyed the draw cycle and feel for what they provided (Carbon Defiant 34, RX-4 Ultra...
I have medium 30mm rings with a 50mm objective (Zeiss v6 3-18x50) on mine which measure .990 from top of the picatinny rail to centerline of the scope tube. Personal preference, to an extent, for how close you want the objective to the handguard. I’d run the Mediums based on what you are...
3 pin slider with dual indicator MBG…different colors for the pins is what I use…top pin is green, middle yellow, bottom red (like stop light). Quick to reference without confusion in the moment, and ability to dial if I need more distance and know what my top/bottom are referenced to at all...
Yeah-it’s definitely an odd system. Almost like a dual draw… I had 2 bonus points and two preference points last year. I was selected momentarily (draw 1) with my preference points, but was not selected for my archery draw hunt (not even a prime unit choice), so my preference points went to...
^probably right; wasn’t sure if it’s an M5 just eyeballing it…
It’s a T25 flush fit head, ~3/4” long. Same thread pitch as the screw for the palm grip (although different head type and ~1/4 longer) . It doesn’t go to anything in its factory set up…just threads into a brass fitting under the barrel.
I’d tend to lean more towards the 42mm; mounts lower, weighs less, will aesthetically look more proportional on the 22” tikka barrel in that 300wsm than a big 56mm bell
I think that helps answer your question…save the Zeiss for something you intend to get more use out of the features/function.
I know Leupold hasn’t seen much support here lately, but I’ve never had issue with my VX3HD 3.5-10 that I used for a more classic look on a Winchester model 70 .270...
7mm-08 ~8.5lbs with 2-10x42 Nikon Monarch 5 ED scope; 2A Xanthos and 18” Wilson Combat barrel
Son took his first cow elk at 120yards with it at 10 years old. Shooting 150gr eld-x. Great for the adjustable LOP
Recoil from what I’ve shot: 6.5CM<7mm-08<6.5PRC<.270<.280ai<.30-06
The difference is about ~.5-1ftlb greater on the scale with common comparable typical factory ammo loads that would be representative for each.
