Sitka vs. First Lite for Whitetails?
I ordered some FL furnace base layers and the cut/fit of them was all wrong for me. Really wanted those thick base layers for cold sits but there's no way they'd work. The small Henley looked like a dress and the medium pants fit circumference wise but were way too long. I'm 5'7" 165lbs...- Grit2

Pretty cool encounter with a mature deer last night. He had me locked up until he walked straight away. No shot opportunity but awesome he didn't go blowing out. -
How long did it take you to get your first archery animal?
About 3 years for my first whitetail. Roughly 1 every few years after that until I started urban hunting. -

The 7x7 was pretty thin but all of the 6x6s were thick with the nice dark coloring and white tips. -

When I was underspined, the illuminocks murdered my arrow flight. It was too much weight in the back end for the arrows to fly consistently. -

This was the biggest buck we saw. Even alive wouldn't be a shooter. Either way it was a good learning experience and we saw some awesome elk. So I've marked it up as a learning experience and as noted likely won't be going back. -

Also of note, I don't think there is enough public ground in the area to actually out work someone. Those guys we talked to from Wisconsin and Iowa were putting in 10+ miles per day. I don't think there were effective miles but they were walking a long way to get where they wanted to be. -
