Yeah, I can't believe you didn't know it was the side of the pack enveloping around the meat bag. :ROFLMAO:
Looks to me like the pack is full of junk and he just strapped a few lbs of meat in a bag onto the back of his pack. But if it doesn't bother him then it doesn't bother me.
So far I've only put it on a 22" 270 win and a 18" 6.5 cm. Maybe just a bit quieter on the longer barrel but not much. Very impressed with the sound quality on both.
Moving the weight of that meat 6-10” closer to your back is going to make that load much more comfortable. Displacing the weight of a few lbs of clothing is a non issue.
Why not a load shelf?
I understand putting something between your bag and frame will move the weight in your bag further from your torso, but if you plan to bring meat and your bag contents in the same load you definitely want the more dense cargo (meat) closer to your back.
I always have...
I don't think they're falling off the map, I think they are mysteriously keeping things quiet until they release a new lineup and blow all of our freaking minds.
I cant argue with that, and I've had some crazy mysterious things happen with archery equipment myself, but assuming he got enough penetration, I would have a hard time being convinced that an arrow with that trajectory would not hit the far lung.
I have a 338 rum which is for all intents and purposes, the same as a lapua. The thing is big and heavy, but every time I lay down to shoot something with it I sure am glad I have it. Mine with a suppressor and bipod and a nightforce on it is 12.8 lbs, but man it hits hard. I'm shooting a 300 gr...
I have never used exo, Stone glacier or Kifaru, but I am a big fan of my mystery ranch pack. It’s carried well over 50 animals in the last few years and I haven’t had a single issue. 🤷♂️ Several loads well over 100 lbs.
