Those are factory loaded ammo that I bought to see if the rifle liked the 200 ELDX.
Federal is 2820 fps average and shoots really well. I’ve shot this to 725 yards and is impressively consistent for factory ammo.
Hornady loaded is 2715 fps average, doesn’t shoot as well. I don’t remember...
My 300 WSM shoots the 200 ELD-x really well. Federal loaded version 10 shot group was one big hole about 0.75” across.
Hornady loaded version doesn’t shoot quite as well for me.
I’ve only shot a 5 round and then checked zero a few times and the zero check fell in the bull so I called it good. Used the 6 ARC Sunday to shoot a whitetail buck.
5 shot group, as shots 2-6 on the barrel, adjusted and shot the one in the diamond bull as shot 7. Took it to distance after...
My Shaw portless is doing alright with AAC 77 TMK. 1.5” is about average for 5 shots. Some of that is me getting used to the light weight and trigger. I did have one group about an inch not counting a shot I called as me.
Hoping as I get used to the rifle it can do a little better or I...
Stone glacier Chilkoot is very roomy but still extremely warm. I have the 15 degree and my biggest problem is sweating while sleeping.
I’m 6’1’ wear XL shirts with wider shoulders than most. 220 lbs. 34” waist
A lot of gunsmiths have to pull scope and rings to thread. I would remount everything after degreasing and then torque with your chosen thread locker.
Gunsmiths like grease and oil, a lot of the old timers don’t like dry, degreased, and locked down.
Few things finally went right this year. 4 elk quarters on each horse and neck meat from both elk on the grey so I tried a mantie and hitch to hold it. About the third time and a few miles later finally got it to hold.
I have 4 tract scopes. Two Toric 1” 3-15x42, two Tekoa in 2-10 and 4-16. I can honestly say they have all dialed for me reliably and returned to zero. I ran tall target tests with all and they don’t leave me wondering if the scope is doing what it should.
They were what I could afford at...
I bought a Lyman check weight set to calibrate a really old Redding beam scale with my chargemaster lite. I do check them, typically each time I load. The beam scale never moves, they are both on the same shelf on a solid wall. Throw charges on the chargemaster then put that on the Redding...
Used the 300 WSM 180 to take two moose with my rifle last year. Worked well, I would say pretty similar to an accubond. No complaints from me.
They shoot well and I’ve taken them to 600 yards on gongs with an adjusted BC value I found online.
Very well. 108 Eldm. One round to get close to point of aim. Rounds 2-6 are in the 5 shot group. Adjusted vertical and shot 7 is in the bull. Shot 8 was dead center on the gong at 425 and shots 9-10 were on the gong at 571 one upper right and one lower left. All shot from a molinator and...
New Bear Creek 16” barrel in AR side charge upper. 108 ELDM factory. Shots 1-7 over the LabRadar averaged 2480 fps and my drops seemed to line up well to 571 yards.
I shot the 103 ELDx as well and agree accuracy was similar but didn’t put that velocity in my app because the 108 shot so well.
Another questions since this thread has most of the info on Ultralight and the various parts options.
TN arms carbon lower. FarrowTech butt and A2 buffer. I ordered the tap from farrow tech for the rear takedown retention pin hole. Tap is 4-40 and almost slides right in the hole without...
