I am 6'2" as well and currently use a Stratospire 1. If I situate myself just right, neither my feet nor my head touch the inner walls but it is a tight fit. Inevitably, my feet or my head will touch at some point throughout the night so I usually situate myself so I wake up with damp feet...
I'm currently looking for a solution to this problem as well. My girlfriend uses a regular hiking pack that has a padded belt with no attachment points. Is the paddle holster able to be used over a padded pack belt?
If you're serious about hunting and less so about posting Instagram pictures, some spray adhesive for fabric and a yard or so of quiet material will make any pack quiet. I save every piece of brushed or fleece fabric clothing I have to cut up and glue to noisy hunting material.
Looking for size L/XL. Got attacked by hornets while retying my shoe and will not be going back for my right gaiter that I lost while running away. Used or new, I need some for archery season and figure I'd inquire here before buying online. Thanks
Mine seemed nearly just as crinkly after several hundred miles of hard use as it did new. It was noisy but most comparable options are just as loud. That being said, it was super durable.
Just wanted to give a shoutout to Seek Outside for creating quality packs. I’ve owned several packs from major brands that we all know of and recently decided to give Seek a shot. I’d been eyeing them for a while but I had been hesitant to buy because they didn’t seem to be as popular as others...
Mine just arrived today! It's the 5400 (Lanner) size with a side zip, breakaway frame, internal load shelf, no face pocketing, lumbar pad, talon, and multicam suspension & accents. First ordered the 4800 in that configuration but opted for the 5400 bag because it has the built-in collar pocket...
White River M1 Backpacker (the paracord wrapped knife). S35VN steel for less than $100. Weighs 3.25oz in it's sheath but the grip is large enough to be comfortable in my big hands. Doubles as a great knife for backpacking and daily use.
Also carry a Havalon because those replaceable blades are...
Before we get to the details, this pack smells and I'm done trying to get the smell out. Maybe someone knows a trick I don't and will get a nice pack for cheap. I've tried baking soda, vinegar, enzymatic fabric cleaner, and a short stint with an ozone generator. The pack is in great shape other...
Awesome. If vinegar doesn't cut it I'll try that and then go to the ozone. Thanks for the help everyone.
I read that last night but missed the enzymatic cleaner. Gonna have to try that
It literally cannot go inside the house any more. I can't get the smell out of the room I set it in the other day to dry on one of my attempts to get rid of the scent. Do they make a generator small enough to set up in a tote or a large cardboard box?
Man, this was my worst attempt to save $100...
Sounds like I need to soak it in vinegar. Will that fade the camo print very much? The ozone generator might be a good thing to do after that but I feel like there must be some kind of oils in the pack causing this that need to be pulled out. It's disgusting.
It's not the urethane coating. This...
I recently bought a used Exo pack from a member on here and while the pack nearly looks unused and has no stains, it smells like a rotting animal. I can't even keep it in the house. I've tried washing it and soaking it in various mixtures of baking soda, Borax, and laundry detergent with no...
My issue isn't necessarily the camo pattern but the lightness of it. I hunt dark areas and prefer to stay undetected by both animals and other hunters. I prefer a darker color as it simply doesn't stand out like multicam does. Standing still it doesn't matter but I move. A lot.
Shiny objects...
