What is your typical shot distance for small game?
I'd say my typical gray squirrel shot is about 35-40yds. Some out to 50 but, don't like it with a 22. I played around with a 17 near the end of the season. No game but, plenty of hopefully groups when shooting- Swamp Rat

How many of you can hunt small game in Spring?
Small game essentially is 15 Sept - 30 Mar in Michigan. Red Squirrel is year round and other "pests" like porcupine and such. Only hunting in the spring is turkey around me.- Swamp Rat

Sitka pants inseam length issues
The knee pad issue being lower than your knee is a design. When you bend you leg to place your knee on the ground, the pant would ride up your thigh, making the contact point of your knee to be on the knee pad. I am also super picky about fit of pants so, I feel your pain. -

Is Sitka downpour rain gear suitable for an Alaskan Hunt?
My concern was the breathability of the Downpour (no pit zips) doing day trips walking around in 20-50 degree days. -
