    What to look for when trying out optics in the store?

    Yep yep, if you can get outside with an employee. Natural light is going to show you more than LED or fluorescent they arnt going to allow you to see conditions the optics will see in the field.

    i don’t think you can go wrong with any of the price point scopes available now. I think they are just about the same quality glass and function. It’s a very competitive market

    Angled vs straight

    I struggled with my recent purchase also. I bought a straight razor after a lot of research. It works as it should and have never used an angled eye piece. I’m happy with it and prob wouldn’t change it as we use binoculars with adapters and switch to a spotter on the same Tripod when necessary

    DIY Youth Stock

    Wow nice job. It’s difficult to watch my boys shoot as they search the eye relief for a good view of the target. I recently purchased a manners MCS-CS stock. I didn’t have the balls to cut my own stock down in fear of ruining one

    Is Cabela’s played out?

    Seems as though as bad as cabelas was getting the purchase from Bass Pro has made it worse. Field and stream sold out near me to outdoor warehouse and the place is a ghost town now. I think both cabelas and sportsman’s warehouse are going to suffer till the bitter end
