I have had terrific luck with the DNZ rings. Actually putting a new scope/ring setup on my tikka this weekend. Mounting a leupold Mark5 4-20x34mm with a DNZ tactical set and this is what the torque spec calls for:
I have a Tikka lite in 7mm RM and a $40 limbsaver pad was all it needed to tame the recoil. I have tried brakes in the past but the increase in noise was not worth the decrease in kick IMHO.
I hunt Northern Washington/Idaho and spend my summers in Alaska commercial fishing so I don't experience the true "hot" period of the year. I use the Katanas all year long, from the August bear opener to the late muzzy season in November with some long johns. The side zips and pocket zips give...
+1 for the Spot Hogg double pin. I leave my top pin at 30 and the second pin ends up right on at 40. I know how high I hit inside 30 yards up to point blank range so the only time I move the sight is for shots at 40+
I shoot the 4mm FMJ 330’s with ethics archery inserts/footers. 540 grain arrow that is beefy as hell and fly extremely well. The inserts are easy to put together and you can spin em while they are setting up to make sure everything is hunky-dory.
It’s just a bear, not big, not small. He was 5.5 and about 150 pounds. I was extremely pleased with the Stryker. It is exactly what I was looking for, undo 6 clips and the thing turns into a dump truck.
My Tikka 7mm really likes the eldx 162 bullets but needed a good break-in process before the groups began to really shrink up. Have you aggressively cleaned the barrel recently?
