I use a MR Scree. The pack is available in a large size and has an adjustable internal frame sheet that allows for a somewhat custom fit. I like the removable hip belt as they can get in the way when in the saddle.
I have a pair of Sitka that in keep in my pack all of the time. Most of my hunting is via horseback and I don't like wearing the rain pants in the saddle. I only use them when absolutely necessary (steady rain and I know I am going to be soaked).
Purchased an X3 in 30-06 about 6 months ago. Great rifle. Hope they can successfully restructure. I thought they were heading in the right direction with new leadership.
Box step (12-14 inch high) for 30 min with 25 lb pack 5 x week. Hit all the hills, no matter how small, when walking the dog. Wear a pack the closer it is to the season. Mix in upper body work 3x week— push-ups, pull-ups and resistance bands.
I have an X3 in 30-06 . Purchased about 6 months ago. ~100 rds. I find the rifle to be well balanced and shoot sub-moa (if I do my part) . Trigger is ~3 pounds. Stock fit around the barrel is not as tight as I would like. Action is ok - not as good as my Tikka. 7 lbs 13 oz with VX3 (2.5 x 8)...
