    Garmin Alpha for my viszlas. Have used for many years. Prefer newer mini collars charging design vs bigger units. Also you can use a Garmin Fenix or instinct watch to see direction/distance without looking at handheld.

    Contacts (disposable) all the way. Easier to use binos, non-prescription sunglasses, etc. Bring glasses as backup.

    Took a nice Montana 6x6 (my first bull) from 300 yds this fall with my 1955 Winchester Model 70 30-06 using 180 grain Winchester Ballistic Silvertip. Next day a buddy borrowed the rifle and dropped a similar sized bull (also his first) from around the same distance using same ammo.

    ARE with the Outdoorsman windoors on the sides. Those are super useful for access, venting etc. I also got a front slider. Very happy. An aluminum pole with a right angle hook on the end (available at Fleet Farm) is super handy to avoid crawling into truck bed.
