They were both here before either of those two cartridges and in a faster twist barrel to upgrade them they could do as much if not more than the 6mm Creedmoor and would be right on the heels of the 7mm PRC. Both are such great cartridges I just hate to see either of them disappear.
Antelope is fantastic eating. I've had a bad tasting antelope. It is always tender and mild flavored. This is a sure fire way to cook them.
Heated up cast iron skillet at medium high. Use butter and olive oil in the pan.
1. Put thawed antelope steaks in a glass or plastic (no metal)...
Friend shot this antelope. One shot 400 , 6mm Remington, 100 gr. Partition. I'm packing it out for him.
6mm Remington 100 gr. Partitions 3170 fps, One shot each.
6mm Remington 100 gr. Partition out of a Ruger 1B single shot. 30 yards. Right shoulder exited neck on opposite side...
Ruger 1B 6mm Remington. My deer, antelope, coyote rifle. Not my first deer rifle, but I just wanted to let casey36 know that the Ruger #1's are cherished, wether it is your first or your last.
Remington Model 600 Centennial chambered in 6mm Remington and made in 1964. 75th anniversary of Statehood and 100th or the Montana Territorial Centennial. I believe 1030 were made. Got it when I turned 12 in 1972. It killed a lot of deer and antelope over the years and my son took his...
Honestly do not know if there is any advantage. The 25-06 is a fantastic cartridge also. I just have always thought a 6mm-06 or a 6.5-06 would be the cats meow. As you can tell by my site name, the 6mm Remington is one of my favorite cartridges out there.
The three models of the Ruana knives I listed each are $490.00. At the top of your price but they are very nice knives. Here is a Steelhead we had made for our Montana Sportsman for Fish & Wildlife banquet coming up in April. I blued the blade for a different look and a little more...
Elk one shot with 90 gr. E-tip out of his 6mm Remington at 3140 fps, 350 yards. Bullet hit tight behind the right shoulder in the lungs and exited out the center of the left shoulder. She staggered 20 yards and dropped.
Bullets shot into gallon water jugs lined up to do penetration...
How about put a custom barrel on it chambered in 30-06 only use a 24" barrel instead of the 22" factory barrel they come with. Put a nice aftermarket stock on it and have a gunsmith fine tune the trigger to 2.5 pounds. No flies on the 30-06 especially with a well bedded and tuned 24" barrel...
Of course waited until the last minute and loaded up some different loads with 180 gr. Accubonds and Partitions in my son's 300 WSM. I used H100V, IMR7828SSC, and H4831SC. Now we just have to get out and shoot it. Hopefully Friday.
