    Vortex Quick-Release Plate Problem

I also have a Vortex Summit SS-P tripod. I have the Vortex universal car window mount.as well. When I need to switch from the tripod and window mount I have to take the quick release off the scope and use the screw on the car mount to attach the spotting scope. I was thinking I bought the wrong...

    Flatlanders workout

Cross country skiing (both skate and classic) 5 times a week during the Winter. Usually 45 - 90 minutes each time. Riding my bike into work and back 2 or 3 times a week during the spring and summer. That's a 25 mile round trip each time I do it and takes an hour each way.

    School me on arrow rests

Ive owned a couple trophy takers (shakey hunter microadjust and a cheaper pronghorn), a G5 expert 2 and a newer HHA. They all worked well. Even though the shakey hunter isn't full containment I might like that one the best because the adjustments are really easy. I think most of these rests are...

Need a pack, on a budget, do I go new or used?

Thanks for all of the good advise everyone! Ended up finding a barely used Seek Outside Brooks that fit my budget. Big pack when expanded but it is light and packs down pretty small. I can fit a bunch of stuff in that pack and I might end up using my Cabelas Scout daypack once we are camped...

Thompson Omega - Hammer extender question

After scopes became legal in my home state I decided to replace my existing peep which was working fine and get a scope with removable rings and a peep rib system. I thought I had the best of both worlds with the peep and scope option. I figured I could simple get a hammer spur/extension so I...

I used a Teton Celsius XXL last year in MT and it was really big, warm and comfy. Rated to 0 F. About 70 bucks.

Great Stuff Foam in old target

Ive been using great stuff on my 3 11 year old GlenDel buck inserts for some time now. I take a can and do all 3 inserts at the same time and find somewhere else to use the rest of the can. As mentioned, It works best to have some sort of way to keep the target in its original shape, then spray...

Replaceable blade broadheads - After tuning and practice what does everyone do?

I shoot slick tricks and have a bunch of blades that are just a little dinged up from shooting animals. I take the ones that are still sound but more dinged up and those blades on good ferrules for target practice/broadhead tuning. I touch up my other blades with a sharpener and strop to get...

    Vibration after the shot

Cat whiskers work well. Good stabilizers do to. My newer PSE Carbon Air 34 vibrates way more than my old Ross 337. Its lighter and faster though.

    Arrow weight

That should be fine with a good fixed blade if you hit them in the vitals.

    Trail cam reccomendations?

I have 3 Stealthcam P14s out in the woods right now. They are cheap, work well and are a few years old. People probably wont find them as I hide them and use wire to hold them to the tree but If they get stolen its $50 out of my pocket. I have another Stealthcam out right now that is a little...

Need a pack, on a budget, do I go new or used?

Thanks for the feedback on the different packs mentioned. Good advise about the boots and I got the good boots last year and used them on a hunt in Montana. Just got the spotting scope today and need tires on the truck too so I'm spending the kids inheritance. Any opinions on a good used pack...
