I am also a spin/lure guy although not an avid fisherman. I have friends that fly fish and I have to say I can normally hold my own with size/number of fish caught. That being said if you are willing to put the effort into learning it well flyfishing is more fun. I just never had that...
It’s good to read about people getting in the field! Two weeks yet and I am leaving, I would say the countdown begins but that has been going since February 😀
This. Join audible, Louis La’mour makes the drive go so much easier. I am going PA to CO solo this year. Amazon has FM transmitters for a good price if your truck doesn’t have an aux port.
Fill some old cope cans with Folgers Columbian. In the morning or when in a hurry pop it in like a dip. Quick easy and light. This typically gets me started. Mid morning break it is the Jetboil and cowboy coffee.
Well I bought it before reading your guys reviews, anybody else buy it? Did you get your code yet? They say within 24 hours and it has been nearly that with no code.
I have had mixed experiences on public, this stand is about a mile and half back in with the first half mile up hill and the last quarter mile through a swamp that alternatingly requires knee high muck boots and crawling on hands and knees. I think it is a good bet that anybody that can even...
I like this idea, I think in PA you are supposed to have contact info but I have never seen anyone actually do it. I never worried about it because I like the flexibility of carrying one in. I might leave mine and see if he calls. Maybe we can coordinate nicely.
What is your guys philosophy on how to treat a hang on stand on public land? I have a spot that I have hunted for years, pretty decent walk in, I always use a climber. Last year somebody put a hang-on stand right next to the tree I always set up in and left it there (legal in my state) Is it...
I can’t come up with plausible way that an arrow or high powered rifle hitting him there would not do more damage. I think even a bounce of the shoulder blade would look different. Just my opinion. Do you have a poaching problem? I wonder if a 22 bullet entering from a quartering away would have...
In all honesty I have never understood why PA does not get more love from the out of state crowd. Non resident licenses are as cheap as they come you can combine a black bear archery hunt with rutting whitetail in a state that regularly produces 500 + lb bears. And with no offense meant to...
Shhhh. No deer in Pennsylvania in the big woods. If you want a trophy you have to go to Iowa if you want adventure try Colorado. Going more than a mile deep in Pa you will nothing but me and an empty woods :-)
Some of southern York county can be nice farm country. But I bet you were glad to get out if you were in the city. I drive delivery truck in many different areas in PA and the only time I have ever been scared for my safety was in York city.
