How do you deal with poor harvest rate in the field?

Is it for the experience or is it for providing meat? I don't hunt very much, but the times I have come home with a harvest is more fulfilling. But I also know that the hunts I went on with no results still gave me and my family benefits other than meat.

    Normal Adjustments to Clean Eating?

Been eating grilled chicken breast or thighs, ny strip and homemade skin on red mashed potatoes made with a little olive oil and salt for 3 months for lunches. Checks all the satiety boxes to keep me on the straight and narrow. And noticing real weight loss overall looking better. Dont...

    A health revolution brewing?

its stuff like this that makes me angrier than it should. Everyone in business has the right to make a healthy honest living, but I've seen the above enough times to know it is true when it is not necessary.

    A health revolution brewing?

I asked my doctor and he agreed based on my cholesterol numbers. He was expecting decent blockage and was making threats about statins being prescribed. I got the scan and had a 1. 0 is no blockage. Scale goes up into the hundreds so its not 1-10. Insurance usually doesn't cover it, but it...

    A health revolution brewing?

I recommend everyone get a full set of bloodwork done and then get a Heart Calcium CT scan to figure out how much artery blockage you may have. Then adjust diet to weedout junk and get on a consistent exercise program. That should give you a good baseline on what you really may need to work...

    Your fav Darn Tough

my feet sweat in sandals so they are always hot. Good wool socks actually keep my feet cooler so I dont ever notice my feet feeling overheated. I wear the heavies due to how good they make my feet feel with the cushion.

heaviest cushion they make is what i wear every day. Fills in all the nooks and crannies in any shoe I'm wearing. The mid cushion doesn't give me enough padding.

The official unofficial tikka t1x thread

Got mine out to sight in a week ago. had to sight in at 100yds due to the range I was at. I'm not making any official claims, but as I was firing two shot groups to make adjustments in the scope, the holes were touching or very close. Was shooting CCI Standard. Didnt even try any fancy ammo...

What's something you wish you would have learned sooner in life

When someone shows you who they really are, don't make excuses for their behavior or ignore it. Understand that is who they really are. Continue on however the relationship goes understanding that.

The do it all self-defense pistol

Stock Glock 19. Shoot it enough until you can perform some standards with a holster from various trainers. Then you will know what really makes a difference for how shootable a different gun is and can get into all the triggers, grip angle, red dots, etc.

    Zone 2 Training

Just recently got a Heart rate monitor. All of my workouts seem to end up high zone 3/zone 4. This is either rucking for 2-3 miles or 3 miles on the elliptical. Staying in zone 2 seems to be too easy. Could someone explain how zone 2 benefits me with my workouts or do i just need to go less...

    problems with rucking

That's a pretty heavy load, I would think as long as you worked up to that weight, should be fine. have read a lot of stories about guys crushing themselves with a heavy pack and not being able to do well their next season. I'm of the mind that there is no free lunch so put out the most work...

    fasted exercise

I had the same thing happen and yes, I'm still wearing it. All involved should get a HRM chest strap setup as it is the most accurate. My watch was giving me info that said I wasn't working hard at all (low zone 2). Once I got the chest strap, it said I was exercising in zone 4. That's how...

    Mo Powder = Mo Recoil?

My 243 feels like it recoils more than my Tikka 6.5cm. The 243 is at least a couple of pounds heavier also. The muzzle blast is more for sure. Tikka is a Superlite for comparison. 243 runs 39gr of H4350 with 105 Amax. 6.5CM is 41.5 H4350 with a 140 HPBT. Not sure why that is, but either...

    AAC 77 grain TMK ammo

I have some of this along with their 77gr 5.56. Haven't shot any of it it yet out of my AR. I am hoping for decent accuracy at some distance and at least the TMK is known for great terminal effect. It is easy to pick up a little bit here and there at their prices.

    Goruck Mowing?

yeah thats what I noticed also. I remember seeing them when they first came out and wondering why you would want that instead of a good pack with hip belt. Now I know they have two different purposes
