    Bipod

I think they are just fine. Folks complain about “slop” - the Magpul has some foward/back play like an atlas. That makes for a more forgiving bipod as taking “slack” out or forward loading is less critical. There isn’t any side to side play, I would suggest rotating the top of the bipod 180deg...

    Tikka t1x failure to eject.

Only thing that works for me is to tip the rifle sideways and let gravity work. Pain in the ass. My kid has way fewer issues, I do think the speed you run the bolt affects it.

    6 CM & 108 ELD Velocity - Barrel Length

For a 21” barrel, this isn’t rocket science. Take book velocities for a 24” barrel and reduce by 75fps. I can’t believe how much folks sweat a few inches of barrel vs velocity. I’m running 108s/2780 in a seekins element 6cm. Could go way higher but its for my kid, soft recoil with the can...

    Anybody Ditch the Bubble Level?

I use a plumb bob (hang a rope with a weight or orange ribbon with the roll at the bottom). line the vertical cross hair up with the plumb bob, then cinch down the level. One thing, if you want to be effective in the field, like all things shooting - make checking the level part of your std...

Swfa 3-15 milquad or Optika6 as a Nrl22 base class scope

To add, if you are just shooting std NRL22 and not 22x/PRS the 5mil/rev thing is less of a big deal. If I wasn’t shooting past 250 we would still run the SWFA.

Swfa 3-15 milquad or Optika6 as a Nrl22 base class scope

Not the 3-15, but my kid and I ran the 10x fixed side focus for a few NRL22 matches. With the concept of keeping with the same mil-quad reticle since we have SWFAs on our center fires as well. The 10x worked very well for us mechanically and optics, but the 5mil/rev is a dealbreaker in rimfire...

Long range scope of your choice for under $1,000?

SWFA 3-9 isn’t available currently, would be my first choice. These are solid alternates.

    Cheaper Lithium trolling motor batteries?

I’ve got two AO lithiums for my TM that were -$550 ea. will prose ran a microwave off one for 20 min, they have a super beefy bms and wiring. I was going to install a yandina Trollbridge lithium on my outboard to charge them from my main, then after using on the water I found the batteries...

Pressure: when is too much and why?

The most practical way to get an approximation of chamber pressure is still to look at the chronograph. Max book velocity is going to correlate better to max chamber pressure than CHE, reading primers, etc.

    Help with Tikka T1x

Failure to eject. Fired case is not cleared when trying to shove a new case into chamber.

    Help with Tikka T1x

Yes My kid has almost no FTE, I have one about every 2 or 3 mags. She flicks the bolt back quicker or something, Tilting the gun to dump the case works but is s bitch if you are on bipod. Typically I just cycle the bolt back again and eject a new round with the empty and it clears it. Cci sv...

    Viability of a 270Win to 1000yards

I’ve not shot a 270 win much past 600, but I’ve shot a 6cm at ~1000. The 6mm 108 and the 270 145 have identical BC, I would expect similar performance (aside from a significant increase in recoil of course).

    Barrel Chop Screwed Up Accuracy

Could be the barrel opens up where they cut it, was tighter at the previous muzzle location. I bought some lead slugs from brownells to try and check for this before I send a few barrels in to be cut and threaded. Haven’t done it yet and have no experience with it. Just a thought.

Full Length Size vs Neck Size

That’s a very good method. A FL bushing die without bushings is effectively a body die. Body die/lee collet has been a favorite of many for years.

    Reloading scale that doesn’t suck?

What matters is consistency downrange, hits on target. If folks would shoot groups at say 600yds (with reasonable sample size - say 20 rounds) and compare thrown vs trickled/weighed MANY would be very surprised that they can’t tell the difference on target. I trickled/weighed charges for 20...

    Who makes fast barrels?

They are simply operating at different pressures. Loading to “book max” powder charge doesn’t mean your rifle is going to be at max pressure, it just means the rifle tested was at max pressure (assuming you are looking at modern load data from pressure testing)
  17. S

    Who makes fast barrels?

Pressure is driving the velocity. If your barrel is faster than book max velocity, regardless of powder charge, it’s very wise to acknowledge you are over pressure.

    sure okay. Good luck.

    1:8 Tikka .243 velocities

You are hitting pressure before you hit the max reference velocity? Pressure does exist. Following a book load, velocity is the best indicator of pressure. Not unusual for it to take a little bit more powder than what the book lists to hit the velocity listed as max in a reloading manual

    1:8 Tikka .243 velocities

Your shooting factory ammo? If loading why are you getting lower velocity - just add powder until you hit the velocity you want?
