I agree, wet and hovering around 0 is cold. I have other gear for those temps though. If I was sitting on stand in a cold Kentucky rain and somebody handed me an IWOM, I wouldn't turn it down. The IWOM looks good, just didn't check off my boxes as much.
Based on our different units of...
That TT, LRH MRAD reticle looks nice. Good spacing, bold outer posts. Price tag is a bit much though.
For my budget the Trijicon Huron BDC works. I could do without the useless windage hashes, and make outer posts bolder and closer together.
I guess there is a reason manufacturers are still...
Below freezing it’s kinda a non issue. Unless your in an area with heavy wet snow all day. Which in that case its not cold enough out to be wearing that kind of gear.
Another vote for HBS. No experience with IWOM. HBS is a bit tricky for treestand use. Put it on while on the ground first. When it’s that cold I generally set up ground blind anyways.
Arms inside was my preference. No issues getting out for a shot. Bow and rifle.
Get the over boots and use...
Compact stock, vertical grip and I like these as an easy cheek riser fix. Just about perfect for me with sportsmatch rings. https://kickeezproducts.com/collections/shooting-accessories/products/cheek-eez?srsltid=AfmBOopJJBDoUKhk_xHctOtgt87MCoNa-WZdvGXBHkuIRHnjT8DIKw2n
Has anyone ever tried loading reduced loads for a .243 for hunting purposes? Rifle, load, results on game? Trying to decide if it’s worth tracking down different powders.
1) Rebarreled Tikka to .284 Win (Kills things like my old .300 WSM Finnlight, just easier to shoot)
2) Atlantic Rancher Ranger Sweater- This thing is legit
3) Montbell Upland Puffy- Sub $200, 7.1oz fill weight and 19oz -Great performance and price for a niche jacket.

Having used both I prefer the thinner. Good thing scope manufacturers make options for a variety people.
Posted those numbers so people are aware of the different thickness in reticles, specifically for Trijicon.
As a reference, standard leupold duplex is 0.3
Reticle thickness is subjective...
Only reason I recommended MIL was thinner duplex measurements, nothing to do with holdover.
German #4 has thicker outer lines and draws the eye to the middle if last light shooting is a concern. To be honest though, I doubt there is enough difference between standard duplex and #4 to make you...
Your right, it didn't hinder me from killing a deer, antelope and coyote that fall. For me though it was too thick especially with other options available. I would still have it if it had the same dimensions as the MIL version. For a more budget friendly alternative, the Huron would be my pick...
Just an FYI. The Accupoint 3-9 standard plex has a thickness of 0.5 MOA and the MIL dot reticle has a thickness of about 0.17 MOA. The dot is the same for both at 0.4 MOA. I had the standard duplex accupoint and it was too thick for my liking.
I now have a Huron 3-12x40 and the plex thickness...
Much better with the link added. List doesn't include the 95 NBT, but has been brought up numerous times as a great option. Especially for non LRH applications and 1:10 barrels.
